Mangaluru, Feb 16: Well-known director Vijay Kumar Kodialbail is all set to make his big screen debut as an actor with Rajesh Bhramavar's new Tulu film 'Katapaadi Kattappa'.

The crew of 'Katapaadi Kattappa' recently revealed the cast. While Vijay Kumar will play a negative role, Devadas Kapikad will play a pivotal role in the film. This is the first instance in coastalwood where two ace directors will be seen on screen together.

Vijay Kumar, a known name in the field of drama and theatres for 28 years, will begin his new innings as an actor. He is best known for the industry hit laugh-riot 'Oriyardori Asal' and 'Madime'. Vijay Kumar also writes lyrics and scripts for films.

According to sources, Vijay Kumar was planning to make his acting debut with his next directorial venture 'Kodialbail'. But, when he was offered 'Katapaadi Kattappa', the script of the film and the role for him was too good to be refused.

Speaking to Daijiworld.com he said, "I felt this role was perfect for me. 'Katapaadi Kattappa' is a film with a political backdrop. I was offered three Kannada films earlier which I refused. As 'Katapaadi Kattappa' is a Tulu film, I agreed for it. Its time for me to show the audience my acting talent. I am confident that the audience will accept me as an actor".
