Udupi: Private bus operators to hike bus fare from Feb 17

Udupi, Feb 15: “In response to toll collection by the National highway authority at Sasthan and Hejmadi, we have increased the bus fare on this route. The passengers now will have to pay extra three rupee per person,” said Canara Bus Operator association president K Rajavaram Ballal in a press meet on Wednesday, February 15. 

Addressing the media persons, he said, “Earlier we had hiked one rupee per person in all routes due to an increase in the service tax. The hike in bus fare will be applicable from February 17.”

“The actually price hike is Rs 5 per person but we will collect only Rs 3. We request the passengers to cooperate with us,” he added.

Canara bus operator association vice president Sadhanada, joint secretary Suresh Nayak, and other office bearers were present.

    Bus operators have no choice but to hike the bus fare. Even commuters have to bear it as they need to travel by bus for their daily travel.

    Its One of Our Mistake as we are the commuters did not take part in the protest to block the tollgate along with Vehicle Operators.General Stike like this which benefits to the commuters must also join hands with the Bus Operators to Protest the tollgate or uniform rate to fix in the tollgate.Jai hoa.

    RS. 1 PER TICKET SERVICE TAX EFFECT IS BEING COLLECTED UPTO RS.3 WITHOUT ANY REALITY.

    IS THERE ANY JUSTIFICATION OF RS.5/= PER TICKET AS TOLL TAX EFFECT AND THEN GIVING DISCOUNT OF RS.2/=. IF SO DC SHOULD ASK THE CONCERNED TO JUSTIFY THE SAME WITH INFLOW/OUTFLOW AND ABOUT COLLECTING TOLL TAX WITHOUT COMPLETION OF THE WORK. WHY DC THINK ON HIS PART WITHOUT CONSIDERING THE FACTS.

    IT SEEMS PEOPLE REPS. ARE LEAST BOTHERED ABOUT COMMON MAN SILENTLY WATCHING THE DRAMA BLAMING THE OTHER.
