Udupi, Feb 15: A sea of devotees thronged at St Antony’s Shrine, Kerekatte on the occasion of the feast of St Antony’s Relic on Wednesday February 15.

Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese, offered the festive mass.

Fr Vijay Machado, Director of Mangala Joythi , Mangaluru in his homily said that, “We have gathered here to praise God and to hear his words. Udupi Diocese has dedicated this year for Lectio Divina, which means ‘to read and spread the Word of God’. Love, peace, patience, unity and word of God can make all things possible. Let us read, believe, live and proclaim the word of God. It is life giving and inspiring.”

Further he said, “The Word of God is the conversation between us and God and it is the relationship built between us with God. Word of God makes us active, gives courage and encourages living life accordingly.”

“St Antony was strong in his faith and lived his life as per the word of God. Bible stands for the basic instructions before our heavenly abode. Let us read the bible everyday and reflect on it in our day to day life. Let us try to change ourselves, understand the word of God and live as per the words of Christ,” he concluded.

Kerekatte shrine director Fr Xavier Pinto, other priests from different parishes of Kundapur and Udupi diocese were concelebrants.

On the occasion, Bishop of Udupi Diocese, Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo sought the blessings of St Antony on all devotees present and congratulated the shrine director.

To commemorate this occasion, the Holy Eucharist and St Antony Novena was celebrated. Shrine director Fr Xavier Pinto thanked all the priests and the devotees present on the occasion.

Thousands of people of different denominations thronged at the shrine and sought blessings, offering flowers and lighting candles.

MY TESTIMONY - THANK YOU ST. ANTHONY

Today, on your Grand Festival of the Relic and through your Miraculous Power, I found a wonderful "Key and Clue" which I was Anxiously, Restlessly, Hopefully and Patiently looking for since last 29 years.

I had sensed your Miraculous Power before also, but today, I got the confirmation that indeed you are a "Powerful Saint of Miracles"

As you know, you were not a favourite Saint for me and even I have not attended any Novena of this Feast, but prayers of hundreds of people, with humble petitions did help me a lot.

This draft testimony came to my mind today at 3:00 in sleep, to prove that you were looking at my weak and Helpless status and was trying to help me.

Though I was visiting your place since last four months, there was no indication or sign of favour from you.

Actually, I was desperate and was planning to leave my project, due to several failed attempts.
But today you showed and convinced me that my efforts and hard work will not go wasted.

I am also grateful to you for making me to attend the Holy Mass today, at your Ashram, miraculously.

Thank you Jesus, our Lord and Living God, for your continuous help and guidance throughout my life.

You have helped and protected me directly and through many people in various moments, which I am not able to name and list them here.

Please help me to utilize this opportunity to be the Salt of the Earth and Light of the World as you have wished.

    PRAISE BE TO GOD
