Shiv Sena hails development works of Congress since Independence

Mumbai, Feb 10 (PTI): The Shiv Sena today hailed the development works done by successive Congress governments at the Centre and again targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he is not ready to admit the "chaos" created by the note ban exercise.

About Modi's "raincoat" remark against former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, it said being in power with the corrupt is also corruption. But for the work done by the Congress governments, Modi would be governing a backward nation in Africa, an editorial in Sena mouthpiece 'Saamana' said.

"Modi is not ready to accept the chaos demonetisation has caused. His personal advertisement machinery tries to hide every wrong policy of his government and leaves no stone unturned to attack the Congress. Modi should come out of this negative perception now," it said.

"Even if one believes the Congress governed while indulging in corruption, it transformed the nation, which could not even produce a needle during Independence, to one that is at the forefront of economic and industrial development. The previous rulers have made India what it is today," it said.

Referring to Modi's "raincoat" remark, it said being in power with the corrupt is also corruption. Therefore, even if one wears a raincoat and bathes, the body is bound to get wet.

"Today, if you do not believe with closed eyes that the previous government only indulged in corruption, you will be termed as an anti-national and killed," the ruling alliance partner said sarcastically.

Referring to Indira Gandhi, the Sena said the former Prime Minister taught Pakistan a lesson in the 1971 war, never displayed a hypocritical stand on anti-nationals, did not trouble the poor by demonetising currency notes and was thus nicknamed 'Durga' by Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

"Her strong will was the nation's shield. She nationalised banks, made better the nation's economy, gunned down Khalistani terrorists and gave the message that India will not bend before terrorists. She sacrificed her life for the nation," it said.

Eulogising Rajiv Gandhi, the Sena said, "He had the will to govern by clean means. He may have got the taint of Bofors, but he has to be credited with bringing computers to India. The development of technology today is only because he laid a strong foundation."

"Narasimha Rao and Manmohan Singh were successful in saving the nation from economic imbalance. Had all this not happened in the last 60 years, Modi would today be governing a nation like Somalia or Burundi," it said.

There is truth in Shiv Sena editorial publish.

These days BJP has only one tune to sing, which is 70 years past of Congress ruling as if India doesn't existed before.

Nehru laid the foundation for Indian progress in science:
Nehru was a staunch atheist and a firm believer that technology would be Indias way out of poverty.
Who came up with the idea of IITs and IIMs?
Who tried to bring scientists from the Manhattan project back to India appealing to their patriotism?
Who funded and encouraged organizations like TIFR, ISRO, INCSR and allowed the new age scientists like APJ to take root?
Who envisioned unification of rivers for the very first time? (flawed, but still)
Who ran from pillar to post to build Indian steel manufacturing infrastructure?
Who initiated the start for Department of Science and Technology?
Who set up the 110 odd engineering colleges with government aid?
Who wanted the Indian agricultural policy post second 5 year plan as a scientific one?
Who went to schools and started the tradition of science fairs in India?
Who made the first deal of defense technology transfer to make a jet aircraft?
Nehru all the way. The smiling Buddha project wouldn't have taken off the ground without Nehru. He was indecisive at first, but after making a decision, it was Nehru who set things in motion. Comparing Manhattan project timelines to Indian ones is nonsense. They had wartime timelines and near infinite resources at their disposal. China had a dictator who could divert funds and had Soviet support(prior experience of building a bomb). It was an astounding feat in itself that India became a nuclear power when it did.

I Fully agree with SS. BJP should have come on power during 1990. India had only 1 week Reserve for Imports of Materials. Thanks to MMS, Chidambaram and Rao. They run the country, otherwise we had been Sudan or Somalia. Congress has run the country 2004 to 2014 When the international Crude price is average USD.100/=. Last 3 years Crude price is average USD.42/= they have not reduced the price of petrol or shown the account where this surplus money gone??? We should not finger point others. Do what you can do good for the country. We need a clean politician from any party. BJP or Congress or AAP or xxxxxx

Modi is a ruler needed for Syria Egypt Pakistan Iraq and not for a democratic country like India. While Modi is questioning 65 years of Congress Rule, what has Modi done in 3 years. His Jandhan Yojana a big Flop. His Start Programme is a big flop. His Swatch Bharath Advertise is a big flop. His Demonetisation is a big flop. He is today surviving just becuase of the great programmes launched by the Congress which is still going as a grand success.
What Happened to the double digit growth now ?...India is getting downgraded day by day. Why cant Modi have to Guts to Talk against Trump when Indians are facing so many Visa related problems. Bjp is a name for falsehood and Jumla. BJP is just a jokers party with 24*7 election mode by big mouths.

BJP should take an exercise. Take the capital figure at the level of 1947, keep aside all access amount and show the nation how they can do the ruling with such a bad state of financial affairs.

If they manage to run just one week, that is more than enough to qualify themselves to be criticising Congress' 60 years old rule. Else, be thankful for the situation you are in, and do the job that people of India have given in your hands.
