Mumbai: Navodaya Kannada Seva Sangha celebrates anniversary

Mumbai, Feb 9: Navodaya English High school, Thane celebrated their 47th anniversary on the school premises on February 8. Bunts Sangha Mumbai higher education committee deputy executive president and Nahur Citizen's Welfare Association secretary B R Shetty was present as chief guest.

He released the school's annual magazine 'Archives' and felicitated Sushmitha S Pande who secured highest marks in tenth standard examination and stood first in school. He said that orders for opening college are received and that there is no doubt that the students will receive excellent education if they are admitted to college.

Navodaya Kannada Seva Sangha chief honorary secretary Dayanand S Shetty commended the teachers who are retiring after 25 years of meritorious service. The programme started with a prayer by the students. The students presented flower bouquets to the guests and office bearers of the school administration board and welcomed them. Navodaya English High School headmistress and Ajitha Pradeep Kumar and primary school headmistress Anuradha Arjun Wadker read the respective school reports.

Winners of inter school competitions, students who secured highest marks in the annual examination for the year 2015-16 and outstanding students were presented prizes and honored on the occasion.

Teachers Razula Dharmaraj who had served for 25 years in the primary school, Christina Mahadhik from middle school and Poornima Day, Jalajakshi Uchil, Arvind Rayar and Chandrika Gopalan who are retiring this year were honored with flower bouquets and mementos.

Primary school student leader Dhairya Takkar and middle school student Laksmitha Shetty proposed the vote of thanks. The programme concluded after the national anthem.
