Umesh Mijar turns hero in director Ranjith Suvarna's next film

Mangaluru, Jan 31: One of the top comedians of Coastalwood, Bale Telipaale fame Umesh Mijar, popularily known as Chote Mijar, will play the lead role in an upcoming Tulu film.

The year 2017 has begun on a positive note for Mijar as he was roped in to play the lead role in an untitled movie which will be directed by Dombaraata fame Ranjith Suvarna. The film will start rolling soon.

Mijar is one of the top comedy artistes in Coastalwood. He grabbed the attention of the audience with his excellent timing and punchlines on screen. Mijar has acted in 22 films either in a prominent role or cameo appearance.

Speaking to daijiworld Umesh Mijar said, "After playing comedian on screen for 22 films, I was quite nervous when director Ranjith offered me the lead role in his next directorial venture. But as an artist, I am ready to take this challenge. The movie will be an out and out comedy. The Coastalwood audience will be entertained to the fullest”.

Director Ranjith also spoke about the movie and gave the example of Sandalwood actor Sharan who was popular for his comic acts, but now plays the lead. “Umesh is one talented actor and he looks like Sharan. I wanted to continue the trend where a comedy actor plays the lead role. The script of the movie demanded a character which Umesh perfectly suited. The film will be a complete enetrtainer with a strong message for the audience,” he said.
