Mangaluru: Pilibail Yamunakka fame Pruthvi Ambar to play villain in 'English'

Mangaluru, Jan 28: The big news which is doing rounds in coastalwood currently is the hero of one of the biggest hits of Tulu film industry Pilibail Yamunakka is going to play a villain in his next.

Yes, you heard it right. Heroes have turned villains in bollywood, tollywood and kollywood film industries. But for the very first time in coastalwood, actor Pruthvi Ambar, who played the lead in Pilibail Yamunakka, is turning villain in director K Sooraj Shetty's next.

Sooraj in his next directorial venture 'English', a crowd-funded film, has cast Pruthvi in the villain's role. The coastalwood audience, which has seen heroes who pack a punch, will now see a villain leading the movie.

'English' is already a hot topic on social media and is gaining publicity quite consistently. The new cast, a fresh story and now, the hero playing villain will definitely attract film-buffs to the theatres.

Sooraj Shetty who spoke to Daijiworld.com said, "The script of 'English' demanded the villain's character to be in a different shade and with a stylish look. Pruthvi seemed to be perfect for the role. The character is tailor made for him".
 
Pruthvi who is in limelight after the super successful Pilibail Yamunakka said that he always wanted to act in different roles and not only as a hero. "It is a pleasure to work under Sooraj. He has given me opportunities repeatedly. It was not hard for me to get into the character of a villain. I am looking forward to perform well and do justice to the role offered to me. The negative characters in movies give more scope for an artist to showcase his talent," he said.

"I will wrap up three Kannada movies Rajaru, Bangalore Derby and an untitled one soon and start working on English," he added.

Coastalwood is all excited to see Pruthvi in the new avatar while English is all set to go on floors soon.
