Mangaluru: Centre will support Kambala if state govt takes steps: Ravi Shankar Prasad

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Jan 24: Union minister holding law and information technology Ravi Shankar Prasad on Tuesday January 24 said that the centre would support Kambala if the state government takes steps towards lifting the ban on the sport.

He was speaking to reporters after landing at Mangalore International Airport here. He is in the city to participate in 'Digi Dhan Mela' organized by the central NITI Ayog on Wednesday January 25 at Town Hall.

"The state government should put in efforts towards lifting the ban on Kambala. If the state government does what the Tamil Nadu government did about Jallikattu, the union government will respond to it.

"The union government respects local folk sports, traditions and celebrations. The Modi government has much respect for Kambala.

"We will extend our full support to the sport once the state government takes measures in this regard," Prasad said.

Many thanks to Prasad ji . Least we except from this corrupt congi dongi govt. I doubt it will happen during corrupt congi rule. Need to wait for BJP to come to power which is imminent. If Siddhu woke from the sleep then he has to bring ordinance immediately.

Incredible Digital India is slowly going backward in the name of traditions by allowing cruelty to the animal.

Since BJP came to power in many states they imposed beef ban citing cruelty to the animal. While took the 'pink revolution' to top exporter of the world. The laws are also relaxed by the Union minister to cull Nilgai, wild boar, deer and national bird peacock saying 'scientific management'.

In country one don't have right to consume his/her own choice. But tradition can be continued if their is public backlash which involves cruelty and deaths.

Public lynching to appease 'gau rakshaks' and bull taming to support 'Jallikattu'. Human sacrifice will be next ?

    Mr /Mrs. ? SMR ,

If Kambala sport is treated as cruelty to Animals, then can you explain the following

    1. Farmers using Bullocks to plough the field
    2. Bullocks used to pull Carts
    3. Hoses used for pulling Carts
    4. Elephants using to carry Wood logs
    5. Dogs tied with chain inside a small cage
    6. Birds locked inside a small cage

In addition to that Animals & Birds killed for consumed by human being??

Do you justify this? Some people just blame without thinking.
