Bantwal, Jan 24: In an incident which happened at Katopady at the border of the taluk in the early hours of Tuesday January 24, a gang which landed at the residence of Vighnaraja Bhat from Arasalike in Karopady threatened the people of the house and tied them up. The gang apparently had come there with the hope of unearthing a hidden treasure.

As per information, the gang of approximately nine people, landed at Karopady at around 2 am in an Innova car. The gangsters, who were aged between 20 and 35, directly barged into the residence of Vighnaraja Bhat. Vighnaraja Bhat and his son-in-law were the only occupants of their house at the time. The gang threatened them, and demanded to know the location of the hidden treasure before tying them up.

Later, they dug up a spot near the home but returned empty-handed, as per information received by the police. The gang was present inside the house of Bhat between 2 and 4 am.

Vittal police sub-inspector, Nagaraj, and other personnel rushed to the spot and gathered information. They also questioned some locals. Efforts are also being made to find out the details of the Innova car in which the miscreants had arrived.

Even if what you say is true and someone finds a treasure, its illegal to consider it as his personal find and retain/use it.

Any hidden treasure found is considered as national asset and is therefore liable to be reported to the government. The person found it will get an incentive of a certain percentage of the findings.

How do the people come up with the idea of hidden treasure? Is it just a coincidence that many people believe they there actually is a hidden treasure somewhere?
And how do they pin point the location?

Strange.. Many such cases had happened in the past. Unaware what is motivating them to find the treasure.
