Kundapur, Jan 23: In a shocking incident, a youth allegedly followed a woman and her daughter till their apartment, hurled expletives at them and assaulted the woman, injuring her seriously.

The incident occurred on the fourth floor of Dattatreya Apartment, Dattatreya Nagar, Kundapur on Sunday January 22 evening.

Sujata Ganiga, a resident of the apartment, was allegedly assaulted by Nithin, a businessman dealing in second-hand cars. He resides on the seventh floor of the same building. Sujata's husband is working abroad while her son is studying in Manipal. She lives with her daughter in the apartment.

It is said that Nithin was in love with Sujata's daughter for the past four years and was constantly pestering her to reciprocate. But the girl opposed his advances and Sujata told him to stay away from her daughter.

According to sources, Nithin was waiting for the mother-daughter duo to return from a Rangoli festival at Kundapur on Sunday evening. It is said that he first insulted Sujata after following her till her flat and then assaulted her. Sujata suffered injuries on her head, face and stomach. Locals who heard Sujata screaming rushed to her rescue.

A complaint has been registered. Police are on the lookout for the accused who has gone absconding.

what this guy did think to attack mother and assault her?because she warned him to stay away?when such romeos are pesturing always, for long, better carry a pepper spray with you as a safety method if and when comes to such attacks.stalkers dont listen to any warnings.Better inform Police when they dont leave you in peace. Now send him to direct to jail.He cant hide for long, because he has a car business.so wait and watch .A man who really loves ,doesnt harm either girl or relatives.

The boy is in love while the girl isn't, he was even warned to keep off. Despite this, the boy goes ahead and attacks the mother. On no account, he should have resorted to assault on the mother. He must be punished at any cost.

The news says guy was in love with girl since 4 years . So it can be assumed he was stalking for all those years or its a regular love affair where girl now selfishly ditched the boy ?!

Hello...!!! Do you understand the meaning of the following ??? :
"Nithin was in love with Sujata's daughter for the past four years and was constantly pestering her to reciprocate. But the girl opposed his advances and Sujata told him to stay away from her daughter."

If one person is expressing love, does it mean both of them are in love ??

Our father/husband, brother/son cannot be around to protect us 24/7/365. That is why, girls, get equipped all by yourself. Learn self defence which will be always with your as a weapon. Break one/two bones, next time they will think twice before approaching a girl/woman

She could evade his advances for four years but when the proximity got less, she could not fight him. Be equipped, don't wast time !

    Well said.
I think instead of candle light processions and other stage events, the so called NGOs or social outfits should conduct self defense classes for girls and women.

    Mr.Shankar,

NGOs holding candle-lit processions are much reliable and harmless than those self-proclaimed protectors of Hinduism who at times play such havoc that requires thrashing until 'Dammayya Dakkayya' pleading ! Who come to the fore only when members of two communities involved, never while their own thug does heroics !

exactly. police will ask so what. because if there is a fear of police such incident will not happen. culprits will not have so much guts to execute such acts. Now, nobody is scared of law and order. so all such incidents. Just teach him a nice lesson so that he never think of such acts in his life...
