Mangaluru, Jan 21: After a complaint was made to them about the poor quality of concrete road construction at Marianagara, Pachchanadi in the city, Lokayukta officials from Bengaluru arrived here on Friday January 20 and undertook verification.

An RTI activist had complained to Lokayukta that rules and conditions of road laying had been violated and the quality of construction was way below the approved standard at Marianagara. The complainant had also alleged that the corporator of the ward and engineer were hand in gloves in violating the norms.

The Lokayukta team was accompanied by an engineer too. After checking the road, the officials dug the road and collected samples for testing the quality.
