Bengaluru: Passenger uses tap to smuggle gold from Doha, arrested

Bengaluru, Jan 21: A passenger travelling from Doha Qatar to Bengaluru was caught with 230 grams of gold concealed inside the tap.

The value of gold is estimated at Rs 6.81 lac.

The passenger cut the gold biscuits into small pieces and concealed in a water tap. Then he flew from Doha Qatar to Bengaluru by Qatar Airways on January 19. The customs officials saw the tap during routine checkup and opened it. They were surprised to find the small pieces of gold inside the tap.

The passenger, who name is not reveled, stands arrested.
