RSS always supported quota, clarify leaders

Jaipur, Jan 21 (DHNS): Fearing a repeat of the effect that RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s statement regarding reservation had on Bihar Assembly polls, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Dattatreya Hosabale and Manmohan Vaidya issued a clarification on Vaidya’s statement about quota.

During their session at the Jaipur Literature festival, Vaidya said that reservation serves the purpose only up to a point and continuous reservation breeds alienation. Give equal opportunities instead of reservation.

As a damage control measure, at a press conference called merely three hours after the remarks at the festival, Hosabale clarified that the RSS has always been in support of reservation provided under the Constitution.

When Dattatreya was asked to let Vaidya clarify he got agitated and said that he was the general secretary of the organisation.

Attempt at controversy
He said: “There’s been an attempt to create a controversy over our reservation statement ahead of the UP elections.

The RSS has always been in support of reservation provided under the Constitution and should continue as long as there is discrimination based on birth or caste.”

When asked why no Muslim candidate features in the BJP’s UP list, Dattatreya Hosabale said, “the RSS doesn’t decide tickets. The BJP decides on winnability.”

I am ashamed by this clarification statement from RSS.
I have been a member of RSS for more than 3 decades and always RSS was for equality. It is against appeasement of any section of the society based on religion or caste. RSS is for reservations and quotas based on financial strength of an individual and not based on his caste or religion.

If RSS continues to project itself as a campaigning wing of BJP, it will lose all its past glory.

    Bejaimai,

Reservation might give votes to corrupt politicians like Lalu, Mulayam, Mayavati etc....but its a curse to the nation...reservation is responsible India not being able to produce quality human resources like in western countries...

India is only country in the world out of 200 plus countries which follows reservations in schools/colleges/jobs/legislatures!!!...

Originally Ambedkar gave reservation for 10 years in our constitution...we are extending it for ever...this should stop...some body with courage and conviction should stop this for greater good of this country even at the risk of loosing power!!!....

I know you are gleeful because RSS is eating their own words...you should rise above it Bejaimai....

    ...KM...

Gorification casteism continues in the name of votes as crucial UP elections nearing.

As state witnessing four corner fights BJP is heavily banking on Dalit votes which they won in 2014 Lok sabha election using 'love jihad' in Muzzafarnagar.

Party is already rewarded the past communal accused with tickets for next elections. BJP's motor mouth is already started the seeds of communal hatred.

In India BJP mastered the art of communal instigation for vote polarisation. Start communal flare and ask for votes become easy practice for the party.

Where the agenda of development and anti corruption is already walled. Dalit will remain outcast as long as they don't understand vote bank politics.

Utter falsehood. There is no love lost between the Sangh Parivar and the Dalits comprising SCs and STs OBCs and Minorities. RSS represents the Brahmin hegemony against the oppressed classes and therefore such utterances from time to time are not at all surprising. RSS has no business to comment on the sacred document The Constitution drafted by Dr. Ambedkar and other leaders who exhibited a broad vision and lofty ideals and principles.

it is very clear now that..., the self proclaimed patriotic organization's ultimate & underlying lust is politics....,

without prejudice..., it is crystal clear now that dalit & OBC's are seemingly used by RSS for political purpose...,

but karnataka people must appreciate Eshwarappa for his courageous move to reveal the power of backward community..., they are not here for just vote bank....,

good going..., DOMBARATA at its best....!!
