Mangaluru: Police arrest absconding rape accused

Mangaluru, Jan 19: The city police, on Wednesday January 18, succeeded in arresting a person who had been absconding after raping a woman in the city since some time.

The arrested person has been identified as Manikanta (21) belonging to Kodical here. He was taken into custody from Chilimbi here.

Manikanta has been accused of earning the trust of a widow with sweet words and then raping her before running away. He had remained elusive for long. A case about this incident was filed at the women's police station here.
