Nuvemkars urge Aleixo to contest

Margao, Jan 18 (TOI): Some members of Nuvem Block Congress Committee (NBBCC) urged former power minister and ex-Nuvem Congress legislator Aleixo Sequ-eira to reconsider his retirement from politics and further assured him of their support if he contested as an independent for the upcoming assembly polls.

Opposing the candidature of Nuvem Congress candidate Wilfred 'Babashan' D'Sa, NBCC members pointed out that "Congress supporters in Nuvem constituency are deeply hurt by the way the party has treated Sequeira by denying him the ticket and imposing a person who was never a Congressman".
