Shivamogga: BJP streetfight - Supporters of Yeddyurappa, Eshwarappa come to blows

Shivamogga, Jan 18 (DHNS): The dissidence in the district BJP unit turned from bad to worse when followers of BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa and leader of Opposition in Legislative Council K S Eshwarappa came to blows outside the party office here on Tuesday .

Tension prevailed for a while when supporters of both the leaders indulged in a heated argument raising slogans in favour of their respective leaders.

Chaos started when a group of Yeddyurappa’s supporters submitted a memorandum to district BJP president S Rudregowda seeking disciplinary action against those who walked out of a press conference on Monday. This led to a tussle between the supporters of Eshwarappa and Yeddyurappa. The situation worsened when Yeddyurappa’s followers demanded suspension of Eshwarappa’s supporters Girish Patel, S N Channabasappa, S Dattatri, Jnaneshwar and Nagaraj for boycotting the press meet. This led to a tussle and the members of both the factions manhandled each other.

Soon, hundreds of people gathered at the party office. The police and other leaders rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.

Yeddyurappa’s personal assistant K P Purushottam, corporator Malatesh, slum morcha office-bearer B Channabasappa, workers Lakshman Pawar and Ramachandra Rao Pawar, Santosh Ballekere and others were part of the group that favoured Yeddyurappa.

District BJP general secretary S N Channabasappa, who had walked out of the press meet on Monday, said the incident should not have taken place. “In the memorandum submitted to the district party unit president, it is mentioned that I have indulged in anti-party activities. But I am not involved in any such activity.”

He said that he would quit the party, if the charges levelled against him were proved.

Channabasappa also accused Purushottam of indulging in cheap politics.

Some followers of both the leaders sustained minor injuries in the incident.

They are not fighting neither for people of Karnataka, nor for the development of our state. The real fight is to win the election and loot Karnataka as they did when they were in power last time. Both 'appas' are power hungry and greedy to the core.

Expel both of them and if Ananthu too is included, it is too good for BJP. Next morning Yeddy and Eshu together will start a new party. That is politics all about! Do you think they are interested in serving or development?? Taste and greed of power is root cause of political fight!

What more can we expect from this party. The fight has already come to the street which has turn from bad to worst.Even they don't listen to high command.Actually to be very honest we should laugh from inside and expect this fight to carry on till congress come to power once again in 2018.

    @ Abdul,

    You are bang on....,

For quite some time i was observing this fact.., probably when it comes to regulate state BJP leaders ..., all the top central leaders of BJP are appears to be just spineless, ....probably for reasons better known to them(operation kamala)..., though I may be wrong, it even apparent that the self proclaimed patriotic (quite often its actions signal its passive lust in politics, when its supremo MB openly said that it send signals to BJP leaders on issues of common interest) mentor organization also has not control over the affairs between BSY vs KSE.

It is not ruled out that...., having sensed BJP's purged state of affairs in the state, probably BSY is pushing the BJP's top leaders for a hefty cabinet post at the center as a bargaining deal to give up his fight against (Ananthu+KSE+JS ) and to achieve that creating a head ache by confronting with KSE.

just a passive political analysis..., bhakt's are welcome to correct..,

Hahaha...How the BJP going to face 2018 assembly election in Karnataka. The same fighting is happening in Uttar Pradesh also on the ticket distribution for BJP leader's sons, relatives etc. There are many self declared BJP CM candidates in UP threatening the party leaders, they are going to work against BJP. So in Uttar Pradesh assembly election real fight is Modi v/s BJP. In Karnataka BJP v/s BJP.....
