Mangaluru: Tulu-horror film 'Guddeda Bhootha' gets good response

Mangaluru, Jan 17: Coastalwood is on a roll for the past few years. Hit and superhit Tulu movies have set the cash registers ringing in coastal Karnataka. The first movie released in Coastalwood this year too has witnessed an excellent beginning. Audience have commended the new talent and welcomed the Tulu horror film 'Guddeda Bhoota'.

'Guddeda Bhootha' is a horror thriller directed by Sandeep Paniyur, written by Prakash Poojary. The Tulu horror movie Guddeda Bhoota was released on January 6, at Prabhath theater in Mangaluru. The cast and crew of the movie were present for the inaugural along with some acclaimed professionals of the Tulu-industry.

The film features Dinesh Attavar, Sandeep Bhakta and Ashwitha Nayak in the significant roles.

The movie takes the audience through situations of love, fear, anticipation, curiosity and finally resolves after a dramatric climax, as reviewed by the audience. The film provides unique entertainment for the audience. Though, not much importance is given to comedy in the film, unique entertainment is provided and also delivers moral values to its audience as they leave the theatres.

The first half of the film is tepid, but the second half has a promising plot. The plot twists constantly increases the curiosity of the film goer. The viewer confronts expectation, fear and twists to the story with a grim-faced protagonist in the second half. The hero's expressions, a young girl's suicide and scintillating music keeps viewers glued to their seats.

Dinesh Attavar, drama artiste in the second part has delivered an impressive performance, sources have said.

Horror films in Tulu are few in number. Most audience prefer comedy films. However, this movie stands as a must-watch for Tulu-movie lovers, with its underlying message for the audience. Director Sandeep Paniyur's work is good and appreciable, said actor Navin D Padil.

The first song video from the movie titled 'Kanna Kanoku Eeye', was sung by Dr Abhishek and composed by Subash Bolar and penned by Suresh R S Balmatta.

Cinematography was handled by late R K Anthony, and editing by Dinesh Raj and Javith Hussain.
