Mangaluru, Jan 16: The annual feast of Infant Jesus concluded with a grand Mass by Dr Francis Serrao, the bishop of Shivamogga diocese on Sunday, January 15.

Novena was held on nine days followed by the celebration of feast on Saturday and Sunday. Thousands of devotees took part in the celebrations.

Dr Francis Serrao in his homily said, “If you love one another you will show that you are my disciples. Heaven and earth has a deep relationship between them. Our life on earth proclaims the life of heaven and the covenant with Moses shows that relationship. Out of the 10 commandments, three speak about relationship with God and seven of them show the relationship in the world. Heavenly Father and Mother Mary showed the relation of heaven and earth. We need to show our faith through our good deeds. Mahatma Gandhi said that if anyone wants to see God, then he should see him in his neighbour. One who does the will of God builds good relationship with the almighty. The difference between a lemon or a mango tree can be known only in the light and not in the dark. Let us be the people of light and worship God in the service of others.”

Fr Charles Serrao, the provincial of Carmelites, Fr Joe Tauro, Superior from Infant Jesus Shrine, Fr Melwyn Noronha, Fr Felix Monteiro, Fr Anastasio Rojero from Prague, Fr David from Italy and other priests were present.
