Mangaluru: Man trying to sell black buck pelt held from Bijai

Mangaluru, Jan 15: During a raid conducted by the policemen led by crime branch police sub-inspector, Narendra, under the guidance of assistant commissioner of police, Uday Nayak, and Barke police inspector, Rajesh, a person found to  be in possession of a black buck pelt was arrested from KSRTC bus stand at Bijai here on Saturday January 14.

As per information gathered, the accused, identified as Devappa Magadi (43) from Mulgund in Gadag district, had brought the pelt in a government bus from Hubballi. The police personnel said that the pelt would be got tested through forensic science laboratory, after which its market value would be assessed.

This incident comes close in the heels of the recent case about an attempt to sell deer skin in the city.
