Kuwait: Abbasiya Konkani families enjoy gala Christmas, New Year show

Kuwait, Dec 31: The Abbasiya Konkani Families in the city organized a family Christmas celebration and New Year 2017 on Thursday December 22 from 7 pm onwards. The programme commenced with a formal welcome by the compère of the evening followed by carol singing and dance and prayer song.



Fr Noel D'Almieda, Fr Milchester Furtado, Fr Xavier and Sr Lenita Lobo were welcomed to the stage. A Christmas cake was cut along with the committee members to mark the celebration. Fr Milchester Furtado delivered the Christmas message to the audience.

Christmas carols, dance, skit and Santa were the main attractions of the programme.

AKFK president Ronnie Fernandes, and Glades Noronha were felicitated with shawl, fruit basket, memento for their leadership and contribution to Konkani community. The audience thoroughly enjoyed the entire show. Prizes were distributed to the winners of the competition which were part of the show. Sponsors were honored with flowers during the event.

The children were excited, as they were loaded with lots of chocolates and goodies as soon as Santa entered. The audience enjoyed the dance and music and lots of spot prizes were awarded in between the dance sessions.

Rajesh Fernandes delivered the word of gratitude and Fr Noel D'Almeida offered grace before the meal. A grand dinner was served at the end. The programme was compèred by Romeo Braganza and Deepak Andrade.
