Daijiworld Media Network - Bantwal (SP)

Bantwal, Dec 4: The body of Umanath alias Obaya (30),son of the late Thimmappa from Pejakkala near here was found from a pond on Thursday December 3. Umanath was working as a coolie.

The body was found from a pond located at Oma near Vamadapadavu. Family members of the deceased suspect that Umanath would have slipped into the roadside pond and died on the night of November 30 when walking back home from work at night, as visibility was poor due to heavy rain that lashed the region that night. Policemen too support this theory.

As Umanath did not return home since Monday, his family members had been searching for him, and found his body floating in the said pond at Oma on Thursday.

Umanath is survived by mother, a brother, and a sister. On the basis of a report filed by Shekar, elder brother of Umanath, rural police here have registered a case.
