Kundapur, Jul 26: A teen accidentally fell into a pond and died at Mavinakere near Kenchanur here on Sunday July 26.
Rajith Devadiga (17), son of Muthaiah and Lalitha Devadiga, is the deceased.
As per details, Rajith went towards the pond to drive away the cattle which came near his house on Sunday afternoon. It is believed that it was then that he slipped and fell into the pond. As he did not know how to swim, he drowned, sources said.
When Rajith did not return home, his family members and locals searched for him in vain and later suspecting that he might have drowned in the pond, called for the fire brigade and the police. After a thorough search, Ranjith's body was found in the pond.
Ranjith was a student of a junior college in Kundapur.
Kundapur police have registered the case.
