New Delhi, Apr 17: An Indian professor, GV Loganathan, was killed in Monday's shooting in Virginia Tech Universtiy, according to reports from news channels.

The 51-year-old professor was teaching at Norris Hall where the second round of shooting occured. He has been teaching in the university for 15 years. He lived in the campus with family.
 
An alumni of IIT Kanpur, Professor Loganathan was teaching civil and environmental engineering at Virginia Teach University.

He hailed from Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu. and is survived by wife and two daughters.

It has also been reported that an Indian student, Minal Panchal, is missing after the shootout.
