Udupi: Kobudo Budokan Karate emerge champions at state-level competition

Udupi, Dec 17: The Kobudo Budokan Karate, Udupi, emerged as champions in the ‘9th State Level Karate Championship-2014’ held recently at Rajangana, Shri Krishna Math here.

Nittur karate branch secured second place and the third place was bagged by Kemmannu branch while Belgaum branch came fourth.
















Belman Hareesh and Deeksha (Udupi branch) won the men’s and women’s ‘Grand Championship Award’ respectively, in ‘Kumite’ (fight) section. Sachin Pithrody and Chaithra Upadhya received the ‘Grand Championship Award’ in men’s and women’s ‘Kata’ event.

The prize distribution for the winners was held at Rajangana in the presence of Sri Laxmivartheertha Swami, an honorary president of Kobudo Budokan Karate, Udupi, and also blessed all the participants.

Chief guests like former MLA Raghupathi Bhat, Lalaji Mendon, Yashpal Suvarna, Shekhar Gujjarbettu, and Birthi Gangadhar Bhanary were also present and distributed prizes to champions. Daijiworld was the media partner.
