Udupi: Woman killed in road accident at Katapadi

Udupi, Dec 16: A woman pedestrian, who was crossing the road at Katapadi Moodabettu here on Monday December 15, was killed after a four wheeler knocked her down on national highway 66.

The deceased has been identified as Muttu Poojarthi (65), a native of Katapadi Moodabettu.

Muttu had come to Katapadi to buy some provisions. She was crossing the road as usual to return to her home, when a Toofan Trax vehicle that was moving towards Udupi hit her. Because of the impact of the accident, the lady lost her life on the spot.

Driver of the vehicle, Dyamappa, developed cold feet, parked his vehicle there, and went to Kaup police station where he filed a report of accident.

Kaup police registered the case, visited the spot and began investigation.
