Perth Konkans celebrate Monthi feast


The feast of nativity was celebrated by Perth Konkans on the 13th September at the Holy Name Church, Carlisle. The community gathered in the spirit of a family celebrating mass praising and thanking the Lord for the year gone by and praying for blessings for the future. While the choir sang 'Sogot sangata Meliam' Children showered flowers on Mother Mary. This was followed with the community gathering to have a vegetarian meal. Kids as well as adults displayed their talents by singing Konkani and Tulu songs and also dancing to the famous song 'Ie Ie Kathrina". Games were organized and the day concluded with all dancing the baila.
