Narendra Modi's 'wife' accepts being ignored

New Delhi, Feb 1 (AFP): The woman who calls herself the wife of BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi said in a rare interview on Saturday that she doesn't "feel bad" that he has cut her out of his life.

Modi has never commented on numerous reports that he wed Jashodaben, 62, in a traditional arranged marriage when she was 17.

The retired schoolteacher spoke to a newspaper amid intense speculation about Modi's personal life as he leads the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) into the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

Jashodaben, who goes by one name, told Indian Express that she remains a big fan of Modi, even though she says they split three years into their marriage and since he left "we have never been in touch".

"I know he will become PM one day," she said. Jashodaben said she didn't "feel bad" Modi has never acknowledged her as his wife, adding: "I know he is doing so due to destiny and bad times."

"In such situations, he has to say such things and also has to lie," she said.

Modi kept the wedding secret because it meant he would not be able to climb the ladder of the puritan Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS), that frowns on key workers marrying, according to a recent Modi biography by author Nilanjan Mukhopadhyay.

The author also claimed the couple's marriage was unconsummated. In 2009, a magazine tracked Jashodaben to the school where she taught but she refused to give an interview, saying she was afraid of her "powerful" husband.

Jashodaben gets a monthly government teacher's pension of Rs 14,000 and leads a reclusive life with her brother in a Gujarat village.

She said the couple "parted on good terms ... there were never any fights," adding: "In three years, we may have been together for all of three months."

She said she reads "everything (about him) I can get my hands on." But, she added: "I don't think he will ever call me."

It is really appreciable quality of NaMo that he did not fight with his wife during three years of their married life. It is difficult to believe that he stayed only three months with her during those three years. The question is where was he missing for the remaining 33 months? Let me ask this hypothetical question, will he stay at least 5 months in India if he becomes Prime-Minister for next 5 years?
Some number game, He stayed 33 married months single 3 3 makes 6. And 3 months with wife and 33 months single which make 3 3 3 makes 9. That is 6 and 9 or 69. Again 6 9 makes 15 and again 1 5 make once again 6. I think some numbers are very closely connected to him. Only numerologist can say something about it.

What a coments from SOME readers? First of all I am not a supporter of any politicians, look at your paltes then coment about others pure personal matter. How many our so called leaders married and left their wives more than many times? When Joshadaben clearly said they have been married for three years and in three years they were together for hardly 3 months and left each other on mutual good terms, why we are looking in their personal matter so eagerly? What right we have? Everyone is having their own personal life to lead, why we are not talking about countless leaders who were having and had many relations with many ladies and gents? Better divert to other matters than poking in their personal matter. set right your own house first.

If he cannot solve problems at his own house, do you think he will solve the problems of 1.27 billion Indians, who are looking for an able, strong leader to lead this nation. Here he is projected as Candidate for PM of India, who should be of good moral character, without any criminal record or cases.
That is the difference people are discussing about and not actually BJP.
If Ms. Susma was d PM candidate, I do not think there would have been such hue and cry about her. People would have accepted her candidacy without much ado.
At this juncture candidate's moral character becomes a public matter as he may become the PM of the Indian public.

That shows Modi as a irresponsible husband and liar as he lied to RSS abt his marital status just that he can "move up the ladder".
He was irresponsible as he ruined a life of a young 17 year old then by consenting to marry her and then ditching for no valid reason at all. He had no remorse all these years for that action of his, same as he showed no remorse for the 2002 massacres.
How BJPinas can condone his actions and still back him, when they hold marriage is a very sacred unity once the ritual is over and Modi has defaulted on that vow.
Now she has no choice but to say all these things she is voicing when she has become 62. She had even voiced fear of her "powerful" husband if she gave an interview previously.
    May be terrorized into silence!!!

Perhaps the word 'CHARACTER' does not exist in your dictionary.

The point is that he did part and no one will ever know the truth about the reasons for it. Did the author Nilanjan live in his bedroom and follow him everywhere to know whether Feku consummated his marriage or not ? How can anyone say, that is not a lie too ? Secondly, Feku lied to the world about his marriage in order to move up the ladder of success. Add to this his reputation in connection with the 2002 riots, suppression of witnesses and justice, fake encounters, snooping on a woman etc...

The personal lives of people in public service do matter !!!!!! Take the case of Bill Clintion-Monica Lewinsky and more recently Francois Hollande-Valerie Trierweiler-Julie Gayet (President of France).

By the way, check out Hitler's life. Hitler married his mistress one day before they both died by committing suicide. Hitler had no nepotism issues - he had no issues (children) !!!!!!!

All of you people who have commented need a basic lesson in Comprehension.
Man is married- then separated after 3 yrs- They lived together for only 3 months.
Its an ennuled marriage for whatever reason only the couple will know. Not our business. Marriages fail for whatever reason. Then there is no issue of caring and supporting and what not- they parted ways.

I admire the Ex wife for not milking the system by joining hands fake sympathizers who like gossip and damage the reputation of people. She clearly states- nothing happened and I still admire the man. It is her fate it did not work. better to be out of a marriage than be in a marriage and abuse and ignore and cheat!!

If I were to use your logic- I would like to know all of Rahul,s ex girlfriends and what he has done etc. There may be a dirty laundry there. But it is none of my business.( though I worry about a spy dating him putting the country in harm's way)

So please- Modi is single and has dedicated to serve the nation. No worries about Nepotism and favors and scandals like you know who!

FYI- I am happily married for 41 yrs and have 3 kids and I have heard my wife say she sometimes feels ignored. It how she feels - feelings - understand.

A person betrayed his own wife,You cannot expect him to be trustworthy to others. He can betray anything for power.Trust Anybody, but don't trust a liar, that too a blatant liar like Feku Mr.Modi

It says they "parted on good terms, there were no fights." There was a mutual understanding on either side. It cannot be called a betrayal.

Once you marry a women, you have to keep the promise intact,no matter whatever the circumstances you are in.You can easily part ways and find another women in your life. You have think from wife's prospective. Its not as easy as easy for a women to survive without a husband.Think about the trauma she has gone through during her younger days.It may be applied to new generations that we presently stay in,not with older generations.where social restrictions for a woman unbearable to cope up with.

She refused to give an interview, saying she was afraid of her "powerful" husband. Here, the other side of the word 'powerful' is cruel. This married bachelor has no right to destroy an innocent woman's life. Her curse will ruin this heartless, power hungry, selfish man. One who does not care his own wife, how could he care other women ? Very unfortunate for BJP to nominate this person to be PM of our beautiful country.

Look at her feelings. I salute her. I never salute the politicians for the lack of it.. They cannot look after their own family for whatever reason. How then the nation? Respect the chair therefore ,never the person who is plagued by very selfish reasons one way or the other.

We have respect for this lady Jashodaben being a teacher and now retired and leads a reclusive life with her brother in a Gujarat village.

But Mr. Narendra Modi's thinking is totally different. He has no "Caliber to Unite" all religions and people of this country except one hardline agenda "Hindutva"!!!
