Dubai: 'Nirel' Tulu movie songs strike a chord with music fans

Dubai, Nov 7: 'Nirel', the first international Tulu movie which completed shooting recently released its audio in a grand function at Mangalore during the Mangalore Dasara witnessed by more than 30,000 people.
Produced by Shodhan Prasad under the banner of 'Sandhya Creations', ably supported by co-producer San Poojary proudly says, "Yes, we want to release this movie as a precious new year gift to all our Tuluvas around the world. It is our sincere effort to promote our mother tongue and at the same time provide a platform for all our Tuluva enthusiastic artistes to prove their talent to the world of cinema."
Soon after the audio release 'Sandhya Creations' posted the making of the audio in YouTube which got tremendous support with more than 65,000 hits by viewers all around the world.
The first song which captivates the mind is "Serunaga Ee Manass" sung by Akshatha Rao, a student studying in PUC in Dubai, who not only excels in her academics but also in singing, under the guidance of legendary Suresh Wadkar's Institute of Music where she is being brilliantly trained. She has sung two songs in 'Nirel'. The making of this 'Serunaga' song video has a glimpse of Akshatha Rao singing the song live at the recording studio in Dubai along with music director Abhishek S N. The video, uploaded in YouTube on October 22 has proved to be a grand musical success. Producer Shodhan Prasad has given Akshatha encouraging opportunities in various events in Dubai before signing her in the movie.
"It is seductive and the most melodious song of the movie, which stands out among the recent Tulu movie songs," says young and talented music director Abhishek S N. He adds, "I was very confident about its instant success and so was Arasu Audio, which owns audio rights of the movie songs." For Abhishek, 'Nirel' is his first movie experience, but he had already tasted success in his previous Kannada music album "Neralaagi". In 'Nirel' he has also sang a solo song 'Dane Enna Manass' which has hit more than 40,000 views in YouTube.
Shiv Kumar, Pramod Kumar and Shilpa Madhusudhan are among the other singers in the movie who sang "Daaye Enan", "Genduna Saadi" and "Yaane Chandire" songs. Harish Sherigar, Dubai's well-known businessman has sung the very popular "Mokeda Singari- Revisited" an old time hit song penned by the very famous Tulu icon lyricist Sitaram Kulal. From the feedback received it is being believed that Nirel will be a musical hit.
"Nirel gave a new life to me as a lyricist. When people express their happiness for Serrunaga lyrics I really feel proud. I have written three songs for the movie and I am eager to get response for my lyrics for the item song, the genre which I never tried," says the humble and soft spoken Loku Kudla, lyricist of "Serrnaga Ee Manass", "Genduna Saadi" and "Balcony Item" songs of Nirel. Art director Rajneesh Amin who also wrote lyrics for two songs of Nirel movie, "Daane Enna Manassu" and "Daaye enan bududu", is confident of winning Tulu movie lovers' hearts with his maiden attempt.
Expressing confidence about the 'Nirel' audio success, director Ranjith Bajpe says, "We will, one by one, post the making videos of Nirel songs in YouTube which will reach our beloved Tuluva audience all over the world and will simultaneously help us in promoting the songs. There is a great demand and daily we hear people asking for CDs and so are we working on to make the CDs available at their nearest destinations. Success of the movie songs plays a vital role in making the movie a hit. If more and more people listen to the songs of Nirel then more and more people will pour into the theaters when its released."
Further Ranjith adds, "When it comes to producing movie, investing money and making arrangements for everything, both play equal role. Glad to have producer like Shodhan Prasad and co-producer like San Poojary. While San Poojary works day and night for the logistics for the movie to perform his duty as executive producer too, Shodhan Prasad guides us in the process."
"The grand launch of Nirel songs in Mangalore and the tremendous support from media friends around in Mangalore helped our movie to get public attention," say producer Shodhan Prasad and co-producer San Poojary. The CDs will soon be made available both in India and the UAE and they are working on the partnership in various events both to be hosted in India and the UAE, along with the support of assistant director Sachin Padil who is working with them in this effort. Nirel movie stars Anoop Sagar, Varuna Shetty and Deepti Salian are in the lead roles. Deepak Paladka, Subhash Bangera, Anand Salian, Rajendra Pai, Claudy, Donald Coreah, Jameel Sheikh, Vikram Kateel, Ashok, Nindiya, Sandhya, Veera, Vidya, Ashwini, Vishwapati, Shashi Shetty, Balakrishna etc are among the cast. The movie is being edited by the very famous Ashwath Samuel of CID fame and the director of photography of the movie is award winning Mani Kookal. The story and screenplay for the movie are by Karthik Gowda. Diana Saldhana is the sole make-up artist, while Neha Bangera and Ramya Rajneesh have worked as assistant directors of 'Nirel' throughout the shoot.
