Silver jubilee celebrations of Vailankanni Shrine begin

Udupi, Aug 7: The silver jubilee celebrations of Vailankanni Shrine started with nine days novena at Stella Maris Church, Kalmady on Tuesday August 6.

Fr Valerian Mendonca, chancellor of Udupi diocese blessed the statue of Vailankanni. Later he hosted the flag.

“We have received blessings from Vailankanni. Let’s pray and praise with devotion,” said Pramod.

MLA of Udupi Pramod Madhawaraj, Fr Alban Dsouza, parish priest of Kalmady, Louis Lobo, vice president parish pastoral council, Precilla Alva, secretary, parishioners and devotees from different places were present.

Every day novenas will be offered for different causes.
