Mangalore, Jul 12: Relating to the murder of Abdul Rashid, a scrap merchant near central market and resident of Kudroli in the city, the policemen have made two more arrests. Policemen of Bunder station have now arrested Mohammed Ali and Mukri Siddiqui from Uppala on Thursday July 11.

Rashid’s body was recovered from Tannir Bavi beach on June 21 evening. Although initially it was thought to be a case of suicide, upon investigation, the policemen found that Rashid was murdered at his own house, and his body was thrown into Gurpur River by people known to him.

The policemen claim that Rashid’s wife, Naseema, with the help of her paramour, Mohammed Imran and sister’s husband, Saleem, had murdered Rashid, as he was objecting to her illicit relationship. Naseema, Saleem, and Imran were arrested on June 28, and bed with blood stains was recovered from Rashid’s home. With the above arrest, the number of arrested persons in the case has gone up to five.
