Govt is having so many popular plans in pipeline.
Cheap Liquor, Wine at Vegetable Vendors and now dress code for Women bartenders!
Govt should invite activist like Mutalik for suggestions.
He is sure to recommend full cover dress, gloves with even face covered.

I have never seen any Bar & Restaurant in M'lore, where lady bar tenders are employed. Is there any probablity..in the near future.... No. Then why so much of controversy about their dress code. Even if I happen to be at scuh place, I would have my regular two to .... pegs and good food. No bar tenders and no controvesies.

    Hi Jossey,
For retraining them to mingle with Customers, surely bartenders will attempt to mingle with Poor Policemen!
I hope Govt will not send Policemen to other places like xxxxxxxx to prevent women from mingling with men.
    Our Policemen are very trustworthy!
    Have a nice time!

    dear freinds,
Tell me where ladies are safe in this world? Secondly ladies are harrassed by school principal, so stop them to go to school, they raped in hospitals, stop them, they harrassed in market place, stop them, A flight from mangalore to dubai, in which 4 guys harresed a air hostes, stop them from that, A father spents lakhs of money during her wedding, after sometime her husband starts harresment, stop marraiges, dear freinds we are people who mistreat them, we have a problem in ourself, i law permits us do everything. I have heard in gulf each hotel has 5-6 bars, there are more than 1000 hotels in dubai itself, ladies work there, earn good money, & most of the costumers are asians, why there is no harresment, only because of law.

There should be a no 'undress code' for men too then, who attend these bars. It's these who want to undress typically are the 'root' cause of all problems!A '8 P.M.'survey would confirm this.

This is ridiculous. Why should the Government get into this ? Instead, I think the Government should make it a rule for the bar owners to provide compulsory training for the women in any form of martial art or self defense techniques.

Absolutely Yes... As long as the female member of my family is comfortable with the job, I would honestly NOT stop them from working in a bar.. Let the men think what they want Jossy, as long as my family member is on right track I have nothing to worry.. The problem in our society is that we are scared to be different... We are worried that we will be looked down by the society for being different... But its those who dare to be different (positively) that bring the positive changes in the society!

can you guys name the fields in which our women should work and not in your terms and what should they were and what not, which education they should have and which not ... do not forget because of them you today exist. Give them respect and let them live like all other men having equal rights to earn and spend.

Flavian, very narrow minded approach! Then why do the women fight for equal opportunity? Just because men think wild when they are drunk, you think the solution is to ban the women from working at a bar? Guys might think naughty about women acting in a movie.. So ban them from acting in the films? Then the men can wear salwar, saree and bangles and act for the women!! No job is menial... its one's thinking makes that makes a job decent or indecent! Get it right!

Mr. Jossey with your comment you just proved to the whole world what an hypocrite you are. Its people like you who will sit on the front table of a dance bar and watch the girls dance. While you walk out of the bar you will have a toothpick in your mouth and you will say that women has no character. You have NO RIGHT to assassinate someone’s character based on their job. First learn the term dignity of Labor. I know there are mothers who have worked in Bars and have given decent education to their children. Just pray tonight when you go to sleep that a women in your family doesn't come to you to inform she works in a Bar Cos I’m sure at this retirement age of you might have to eat your own words.

We should consider and treat women equal to men in this modern world. Women are capable to handle any task equal to men can perform if given enough opportunities.
There is nothing wrong women serving in bars or restaurants if men can do the same. It is good and advisable to women in these places especially where the alcohol is served to dress appropriately to avoid inviting unprecedented situations. This is only because of our uncultured and narrow minded behavior of our Indian dominated males. (sorry, I’m not targeting whole male population)
First of all our people and their mentalities need to be changed and educate them to behave like human beings in this modern society. This will get rid of their evil mind and open up for acceptance of women and their rights in the same society in which the men live.

If the government and public are so concerned about ladies dress code (ladies serving in the Bars), why in the first instance, ladies are allowed to work in the bars ? That is not a decent job for ladies to earn decent livelihood.

In my opinion, wine, dine & girls would go hand in hand. Men overdrink and tend to misbehave, that is quite natural.

Wearing Pant & T shirt or Salvar Kameez is not the solution. Men are naughty even after fifty.

Ban ladies working in the Bars.

I know, I am going to get maax. disagree from men.

There thousands of girls working as bartenders across the Globe.. Bring out the right punishment and then see how tables turn... cos as per your comment women are meant to be doing house work and men in the corporate world.. its 2013 everyone has to do everything to earn a living..

Why Flavian women should not work in bars? Bar girls are not working in Muscat, Bahrain and Dubai? If they are not forced to to a job and if they opt to take up a job like this I think we (men) should not have any problem. I also don't think any bar girl will blame the men (coming to their bar) because that is why they are there in the first place.
I beleive prostitution should be legalized and rule of law should be strictly implemented
Regarding dress code - I am not too sure how it will work. It sounds equally comfortable when somebody goes for swimming in full suit. Isn't it?
Anyway, good luck congress government. wise decisions one after the other. I have no doubt left that we are one course to become MODEL state

Make sure while serving liquor to Men at Bars, Keep a tab on their consumption levels. After getting heavily drunk, some men behave obscenely. Their jokes, discussion wil revolve around women-bartender. She may need a Z category commando to save from these men.
