Mangalore: K Ajith Hegde to be new MCC commissioner

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (NM)

Mangalore, Jul 9: Kanady Ajith Hegde, who took over as commissioner of Mangalore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) in November 2011, has been appointed as the new commissioner of Mangalore City Corporation (MCC).

The post of MCC commissioner was lying vacant ever since the transfer of Harish Kumar as personal secretary of urban development minister Vinay Kumar Sorake early last month.

Speaking to daijiworld, Hegde said that as MCC commissioner, his priority will be to provide basic necessities to the people, especially good roads, drinking water and a clean environment.

Ajith Hegde said that he would be taking up his new responsibility on Wednesday July 10.

Before being appointed as MUDA commissioner, Hegde served as financial controller in Karnataka Rural Roads Development Organization, Bangalore.

He was the joint commissioner of Mangalore municipality for three years and was later transferred as chief administrator of Karnataka State Pollution Control Board. He has also served in the Udupi town council.

Renuka Prasad will be replacing Hegde as MUDA commissioner.

Sir, Congratulations on assuming office as the commissioner of MCC.
We wish you well in the new role sir, please ensure that the approach (service) road from Kuntikan junction to Lohithnagar/Prashanth nagar/Nekkilagudda prepared by IRCON (just by the side of Kuntikan flyover on NH 66)which has been totally ignored by all agencies is made usable by the users of this road this is the only road for commuting by over 1000 residents of the abovesaid areas this was laid after severe efforts of the residents of this area at present this service road is having the following problems:
    1. Very narrow at the approach on both sides near kuntikan junction and at the point of termination (at the point touching Lohithnagar)
    2. Unauthorised parking of a number of new, used and demo cars by BHARATH MOTORS AND ADVAITH HYUNDAI.also customer car parking on the side of the road with no place for passing vehicles and pededstrians
    3. No street lights on this road and pitch dark in the night making it beyond the use of pedestrians especially women/girls after dusk.
    4. Parking of lengthy trailer trucks on this road before unloading of the motor cars for Bharat motors and Advaith hyundai
    5. Unauthorised streeet vendors, pani puri stalls and other stalls under the Kuntikan junction becoming a hot spot for anti social elements and rowdy elements.
PLEASE ENSURE THAT PROPER ARRANGEMENTS ARE DONE BEFORE THE USERS OF THIS ROAD ARE FORCED TO RESORT TO UNFAIR OR UNJUSTIFIED MEANS TO SOLVE THEIR GRIEVANCES.

WE HAVE FULL FAITH IN YOUR CAPACITIES AND INTENT THAT JUSTICE WILL BE DONE TO US!!!

Service Busses stop under the fly over blocking view of crossings as well as it hinders Ambulance Fire Service .

Designated bus stops are never used.

Gutters in front of Emphorus Building overflows even when slightly rains. it flows down 200 meters, its misery to see people cross over this .

    Likhthey raho. Hegde Padegaaa
