Mangalore: Love Jihad an indirect war on Hindu civilization - Bajrang Dal

Mangalore, Mar 8: Bajrang Dal state convener Suryanarayana on Friday March 8 launched a scathing attack on 'love Jihad' and said that it was 'a strategy by Muslim youths to lure innocent Hindu girls in the name of love and convert them'.

Addressing a press meet at the VHP office here, Suryanarayana claimed that many people have been financially supporting those indulging in 'love Jihad'. However, he did not mention any name.

Referring to the recent incident wherein a girl from Paltady was allegedly taken to Ponnani in Kerala with the help of advocate Nooruddin, he said, "Innocent girls of the Hindu community are being taken to Ponnani for the purpose of conversion."

"The number of missing girls has been increasing over the last six years. In the name of love girls are lured with money. They are used for human trafficking and sold to foreign countries," he alleged.

He also attacked Congress and said that the party was silent on the issue as Nooruddin is the chief secretary of Congress district minority unit. "Congress is hence silently supporting him," he said.

"Organizations like Campus Front of India and Women's Front of India are also involved in love Jihad, and this has been proved in Kerala. Several innocent girls are being converted and kept in relief camps. Some of the Hindu leaders in Kerala have even lost their lives fighting over the issue," he claimed.

He also said that some of the mobile recharge shops were helping in love Jihad by sharing numbers of innocent girls and luring them. "Police have already sealed mobile recharge shops in H D Kote and Tumkur over this," he added.

"It is an indirect war on Hindu civilization. One can even find that those involving in terror have links with Dakshina Kannada and Kodagu districts," Suryanarayana said.

He urged the state government to order CoD probe into the Paltady incident, and requested Muslim leaders to take the matter seriously and guide the youths away from such activities, and to respect Hindus and their beliefs so as to maintain communal harmony in society.

Bajrang Dal leaders Sharan Pumpwell and Jagadish Shenava were present.
