Dubai, Mar 8: Sri Dharmasthala College of Engineering Alumni Chapter in the Middle East recently celebrated their first alumni meet at Baracuda Resort in Umm Al Qwain.

It was an eventful night to remember while the entire team of 50 students stayed in the resort overnight amidst their busy schedules and commitments. Ex students from as far as Oman and Qatar travelled across the border to specifically make it for this meet.

The event was graced by ex professor of SDM, Suresh Radder. The event started with an official ribbon cutting and lamp lighting ceremony which was conducted by the senior most alumni members Satish Kumar Bantwal, Ravi Shetty, Sham Kamath, Jyothi and Santosh Malla.

Devesh Alva welcomed the SDM alumni on behalf of the organizing team. Kiran Shetty compered the entire event which went on till 12pm midnight. Professor Suresh Radder was honoured for his unedifying spirit and the motivation and support provided towards the alumni.

The whole event was packed with activities which included introduction of all SDM alumni members, Q&A session by Sudhindra Aithal, dance by professional troupe and shares of thoughts by eminent members such as Ravi Shetty, Velugula Madhusudhan, Yashwant Pai and Sham Kamath.

Satish Kumar Bantwal proposed the final vote of thanks which was then followed by a sumptuous dinner.

The overnight stay ended with a morning breakfast, followed by a cricket match within the SDM alumni members.

Great initiative by my college mates. It was such a wonderful joy to meet many of our contemporaries and many youngsters with so much enthusiasm. It was heartening to see the self less dedication and commitment by Prof.Suresh Radder in support of SDM Engg Alumni Chapter. Look forward for the bigger occasion and meet more friends and classmates soon.
Many thanks to Shodan Prasad and Daijiworld for covering this event.
