Bangalore: Actor Darshan acquitted in domestic violence case

Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore

Bangalore, Feb 18: In a big relief to Sandalwood's 'Challenging Star' Darshan, who was facing charges of beating his wife Vijayalaxmi, the actor on Monday February 18 acquitted him of the charges.

Television reports stated that the order was passed by the additional chief metropolitan magistrate court.

Incidentally, the ruling comes as a birthday present to Darshan, who turned 36 on Saturday February 16.

The actor had been arrested in September 2011 for allegedly beating his wife, and later released on bail. His wife had also changed her statement claiming that her injuries had resulted out of a fall.

The police had filed a chargesheet and recorded statements from over 40 persons including people from the Kannada film fraternity, friends and family.

Various interested parties intervened in the matter, after which the couple agreed to patch up. After the incident, Darshan and Vijayalaxmi even appeared before the media together and apologized to the people of Karnataka for all that had happened.

Both Husband & wife have made mockery of our Judicial system and made use of its loop holes to suit thier situation. For husband his reputation was at stake at the end & for wife finally the status...i guess
Finally its all well that ends up well.
