Kundapur, Feb 16: Five persons of a family, including a baby, were killed when the car they were travelling in met with an accident near Kodihalli in Hassan on Friday February 15 night.


Subramanya, Sudha, Shobha and Vijayalakshmi

The deceased have been identified as Subramanya (35), his wife Shobha (28), their son Adish (8 months), Shobha's sister Sudha (25) and mother Vijyalakshmi (54), all from Kodi, Kundapur.

Subramanya was an engineer by profession, and Shobha worked as a clerk at Karnataka Bank in Tumkur. Sudha was employed with Muthoot Finance in Bangalore, and her engagement was supposed to take place on Monday February 18.

The accident occured when their Indica car rammed into a roadside tree, killing all of them on the spot.

They were travelling from Tumkur to Kundapur when the accident occured.

Arsikere police have registered a case.

    So sad that 5 from one family lost their lives in that tragic fatal accident. May their souls rest in eternal peace. Night driving is dangerous sometimes as some vehicles coming from the opposite direction are driven with high beam which makes the other driver blind. This is what must have happened and it rammed into a tree. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

    This is big sad news for me... nobody knows wht is God decision...birth and death is same like day and night nobody can change this.. i feel too bad .. so many accident happening in night time.. why people trvelling at night... i am prying with God give strength and courage to the family members to bear this loss.     Most of the accidents involving Cars are at night, still people dont learn from it. Please avoid driving at night with family. Night Drive are ment for haevy vehcles... Sad but could have been avoided. RIP
