Mangalore, Feb 15: A truck loaded with sardines toppled on the stretch between Kuntikan and KPT junction here in the wee hours of Friday February 15.

The fish truck was plying from Kozhikode in Kerala to Malpe, Udupi.

Driver Riyaz

It is said that the driver lost control as it was pouring heavily and the lorry skid.

Riyaz was the driver of the truck and Najeeb the cleaner. Both of them escaped with minor injuries.

The truck contained 195 boxes of sardines which scattered on the road.

As the news spread in the area, locals rushed to the spot and grabbed the opportunity to avail free fish! Several people were seen filling bags full of sardines and making the best use of the situation.

No problem Capt. May be it's a blessing in disguise. After all, if I am right, since you say you are a captain .. may be you must be getting even better huge fresh stuffs directly from the sea. Guess, you wouldn't be regretting with such small stuff. Isn't it? Hope you are now doing fit and fine and feeling upbeat after your visit to Fr. Mullers?

My catch word : Never regret for anything in life. If you weren't destined, it was never yours.

    Have a splendiferous day ahead.

The expression of the driver in the photo is as if his face is oozing with generosity and content that he has done a huge samaja seva. Wonder if the owner of the lorry and those dead fishes will feel similarly.

    Good day to all,
I am currently on leave in Mangalore.

Sad to say I am never in the right place at the right time.
Else, today my menu would have been buthai fry, buthai gassi, Portuguese style barbecue sardines, buthai this and that with brown rice! - lol.
Tomorrow would be a visit to Fr.Mullers for minor repairs to my digestive system!. But I would have gladly take that chance.
Have nice day all of you daijiworld readers.
