Mangalore, Feb 11: The driver of a lorry, who was assaulted by the owner for using the lorry for a personal visit to Murdeshwar last week, passed away in a hospital here on Monday February 11. The conductor of the lorry was assaulted by the owner.

Lorry driver Srikanth (23) and cleaner Shivaji (22), both from Haveri, were allegedly assaulted by Laxmeesha, the owner of a lorry that transports soil.

As per the police complaint, on February 4, as the lorry was not hired on duty, Srikanth and Shivaji took the lorry to Murdeshwar to meet a friend, without the permission of the owner. On February 5, the lorry met with an accident in Murdeshwar, after which Srikanth called up Laxmeesha to inform him about it.

Laxmeesha rushed to Murdeshwar along with some of his friends. He brought Srikanth and Shivaji to a deserted spot at an internlock manufacturing factory owned by one Prakash Shetty near Maravoor railway bridge, and allegedly assualted the duo.

After assaulting them, Laxmeesha and his friends put Srikanth and Shivaji in a 407 tempo and fled.

The two were found in a battered state by the locals who heard their cries and informed the police. The injured were shifted to Wenlock. Srikanth passed away on February 11.

Following Srikanth's death, a case of murder has now been registered in the Bajpe police station.

Laxmeesha, Bejai Ashwin Shetty, Kiran of Shaktinagar, Shilash from Padubondantila, Ashwith from Kankanady, Bipin Rai (lawyer) from Jayashreee Gate have been arrested. Three others - Prakash, Ranjith and Leslie Fernandes are said to be absconding.

The court has given Bipin an interim bail as he is getting engaged.

Moreover the lawyers says where there is will there is way .

where there is way there is law

where there is law there is loopholes

where there is loophole we are there , what is Lawyer doing here, killing a 22year old boy, and he is out on bail to celebrate his engagement , what kind of bail is this? Involved in murder and he is enjoying his engagement , Court should send him a warrant and arrest him .. Put him behind the bars

    Totally agree with Praveen.
Plus in this case I think if it wasn't for the accident the driver had any plans of coming back with the 'stolen' truck..!
I'm sure our owner Laxmeesha anna got a tip off that someone has seen his STOLEN truck somewhere and rushed and got it back. I don't know about you people but i can clearly see how this 'taking away without permission' is Theft.

On a side note however, Laxmeesha should have known that only people allowed to beat others in mangalore are our Bajarangi brothers (sisters actually) and Rama sainiks.!

And on a even sider note, srikanth and shivaji could have said 'yenna birthday anna, yank akodchi anna'..!

i did not say that i am defending the owner. BUT 99% drivers cheat the owners . steeling the fuel . steeling the tyres and fixing the damaged tyres, stealing the battery
etc, become a transport company owner then you will know the ground reality. commenting on the issues With out knowing the facts is very easy. driver and conductors of the buses and trucks build new housing with out loan and the owner sells his house to keep the business running, this is reality.

i really feel sorry for the death of the co-driver, which was not a natural öne, my condolences to his family in this hour of grief, however wot has happened should not have happened at all at any cost, no öne iş above law, things could have amicably sorted without any violence. but facts are facts and no öne can change it. What we c here iş the tip of a iceberg. let the law take its own way to find wat was the truth, r the accused really involved, let there be a fair trail, let the guilty be punished in the court of law.

    Driver was at fault, o.k.
But owners frustration to this extent ?
By his reactions to such an extent, whether problems subsided or multiplied ?
If multiplied, then the owner was out of his head!
Yes, he was in trying circumstances! Sad but he ruined himself furthermore!
See, Coastal region is in high temper! agitated ! boiling!
    We are seeing the impact!

There should be a school for anger management to avoid such incidents. These days we are getting mad for matters which can be solved wisely. We do not think properly, just punish the people which we repent later on. When the harm is done, then what is the use. Bodu ittinda Laxmeesha dostinaklen lethondu podu aakere?
The friends instead of joining hands, if advised him properly, the incident could have been avoided.

That doesn't mean he has to beat them. He could have deducted the salary or other solution. Now what happened? He himself is in trouble.

What is the use of beating them ? Their life is gone, now you sit in the jail. But if RSS and BJP interfere they may come out. Apna raj hai kuch bhi chalta hai. Their salary might have deducted instead of beating them. What a marl ? Why show your guts and now eat police maar ? Never beat. We may get angry but always be cool. Be calm. If you beat any body do get any thing back ? No. Just charge your trip money. Finished. Instead of beating give them one glass tody or liquor and tell never do such mistakes again. Now Satti bokka buddhi atte ??? Bejaara malpodchi.

I recall few days ago some people killed a watchman for delay in opening gate of their building in Mangalore. Now, the driver has been killed. Do we need any evidence of law and order failure in Karnataka ? Is it not because Police force has become puppet in the hands of BJP goons and various Sene and Vedikes ? However, there are many stinking rat who justify these Sene and Vedikes formed by goondas.

This is a case of Capital punishment. Hang all the culprits in public so that criminals will learn a lesson. And first should be hanged the "Killer Lawyer".
