M'lore: SCC Omzoor celebrates silver jubilee

Mangalore, Feb 5: The small Christian community of holy family church, Omzoor celebrated its silver jubilee on February 3.

The celebration began with the holy Eucharist at  4.30 pm; diocese director of  SCC Fr Walter D’souza was the main celebrant, parish priest Fr James D’souza, superior of Monte mariano Fr Robert Lasrado and Fr David Pinto concelebrated the liturgy.

Soon after the mass all the parishioners along with the guest priests gathered on the church ground for the cultural event. Members of different wards presented various programmes with extravagant performances under the guidance of James Louis the parish co–ordinator

During the stage programme former parish priest Fr Cyril Pinto and the present parish priest Fr James D’souza were honoured for their valuable service. Former and present day co-ordinators and all the ward heads were honoured.

Dignitaries expressed their regards and joy over the programme. Roshan, Raveena, Preetham hosted the ceremony.Everyone enjoyed a sumptuous meal at the end of the celebrations.

    Congratulations Omzoorians on the occasion of celebrating Silver Jubliee Of Small Christian Community.
    The credit should go to then parish priest Rev. Fr. Xavier Pinto who had initiated this new venture in undivided Omzoor (Now Fermanky Separated). He has played a vital role in implementing SCC in Omzoor which was new to our Mangalore Diocese. Frequent Visits to Omzoor for guidance by Rev. Fr. Arthur Pereira then Director of SCC Mangalore Diocese earned fruits and helped Omzoor to achieve this goal. Later Parish Priests too Supported and Continued the same spirit among the parishioners reach to the great height as far as SCC is concerned. Congratulations to all my fellow parishioners for achieving this goal and thanks to all the Parish Priests for helping us to walk in SCC path.
