Udupi: Mother and son killed in truck-car collision at Tenka Yermal

Udupi, Feb 1: In tragic incident, two persons lost their lives when a truck rammed into their car at Tenka Yermal here on Friday February 1.

The accident occured at around 7.30 am.

The deceased have been identified as Joy Sebastian (53), and his mother and Eli Kutti (73). Joy's father Davelcia Sebastian (80) is said to be critical.

They were travelling in their Innova car from Kerala to Hebri. The truck was plying from Udupi to Kerala.

Joy and his mother Eli died on the spot.

The family, originally from Palam in Kottayam, Kerala, had settled down in Someshwar-Hebri.

Padubdri police have registered a case.

    Was passing by minutes after the accident. Actually the other side of the road was closed for traffic during that time, so no fault of the truck.

    The Roads should have lanes marked on it.
    This would surely prevent many Accidents.

    Tragic loss of lives. Safety is minimal. Innova is a bigger and better to travel yet the tragedy. Also please note large number of keralites are occupying land in Mangalore and Udupi districts as prices are far higher at Gods own country. They are grabbing large tracts of govt land also illegally.

    Accidents mostly ends up in a death scar or a serious injury to one's life. Most of the time the accidents will occur because of excess speed, carelessness,overtaking and sometime the risk of road deviations.Always Drive cautiously and to reach your point too safely.

    I have been to Udupi recently, the roods are just like deadly constructions. Sign boards are not up to the mark, dividers are hardly visible. Diversions are horrible. Apart from all, the drivers are just careless without knowing the speed they drive and having no knowledge of deep diversions ahead on the roads. Overtaking without having clear visibility. Unfortunately, majority of drivers are not aware of these rules as they are not thought while receiving licence.

    to avoid this incidents, better bajrang dal can do more traffic job to avoid it , instead watching what is going on others personal life..and interfering young peoples freedom...why u can not improve the ROAD TRAFFIC RULES..

    The Govt.for the God sake please complete the four carriage road,which can averet these type of head collision, everyday we see these type of accident,so many inocent lifes taken away but still govt.doing nothing.very sad for the family of deceased.
