Mangalore: 'Telikeda Bolli' completes 50 successful days in theaters

Mangalore, Jan 25: Tulu movie 'Telikeda Bolli', starring comedy trio Devadas Kapikad, Naveen D Padil and Aravind Bolar, released on December 6, 2012, completed 50 days of successful screening and has on Friday January 25 entered into the 51st day. The film cast and crew are eagerly awaiting the celebration of its 100th day.

The movie shows have all been booked housefull, with a sea of people thronging the theatres to enjoy the laughter riot that the film delivers.

The movie is produced by Sharmila D Kapikad and Sudhir Kamath. P H Vishwanath is the director. Kapikad's son Arjun plays the lead while Ashritha Shetty is the heroine. Devadas Kapikad, Naveen D Padil, Aravind Bolar, Gopinath Bhat and Bojaraj Vamanjoor play the other lead roles.

The rest of the cast includes Saikrishna M, Karnoor Mohan Rai, D S Boloor, Laxman Kumar Mallur, Rama BC Road, Thimmappa Kulal, Suresh Kulal, Sadashiv Amin, Sandeep Shetty, Sathish Bandale, Pandurang Adyar, Karunakar Saripalla, Harish Vasu Shetty (Mumbai), Pradeep Alva, Mohan Koppala, Agnel Rodrigues, Richard Pinto, Dayanand Amin, Vaishali Shetty, Sarojini Shetty, Vinny Fernandes and others.

At present the movie is being screened at Big Cinemas (2 shows), Central (4 shows); at Udupi (4 shows), at B C Road (4 shows) and in Mumbai as well.

Speaking to Daijiworld, Sharmila Kapikad, the producer of the movie renders her gratitude towards the people of  Tulunadu for their exclusive support and encouragement towards the Tulu language.

"Arjun being a new comer has shown tremendous talent, through his hard work, interest and dedication and has really stolen the show. All the others, right from lead to side actors have put in their sincere efforts for the success of the movie and have done justice to their roles," she said.

"The film has done well and the people who meet me congratulate me with the best compliments and even say that we they are watching it for the third or fourth time. Overall its running fine and good", she said, urging all the people to watch and encourage the movie.

Devadas Kapikad said, "People of all religions have shown much support and love towards this movie and the Tulu language. We have got positive feedback. Many come up to me and say that they have watched the movie more than 4 times, and that's what encourages us."

"Recently a student of St Aloysius High School came to me and said that he has watched the movie 16 times. Such kind of Tulu movie lovers and fans are god's gift to Tulu movie industry. Actually this was not the perfect time for the release, as it is festival time and also time for exams. But the support of the people has kept us going all these days" he said.

"The public approach is steady and the present shows are running well, meanwhile the compliments pouring on the movie and especially on Arjun are encouraging," Kapikad said.

Arjun Kapikad says that there is a nice opinion and response from the people of the Tulunadu. "All have liked each and every aspect of the movie. The overall review is awesome. This season and time is normally a busy period, but people have taken time, watched the movie and supported strongly."

"For the first time, a Tulu movie has been released in almost seven theatres at a time. And the positive response in its first four weeks has been unprecedented, hence there is no doubt that the movie will complete its 100 days of successful running. We are eagerly awaiting that moment," he said.
