Mangalore, Jan 15: Former union minister and Congress leaders B Janardhan Poojary on Tuesday January 15 inaugurated a vehicle rally organized by the district Youth Congress against the ruling BJP government.

The 17-km rally which was flagged off at Urwa Stores passed through the city and culminated at Kannur where a convention is being held.

The rally was organized demanding the dissolution of BJP government for 'failing' to provide good administration and losing the support of the majority after getting split into three parties.

In his address, Janardhan Poojary said everyone should read the declaration of Congress party. "The Indian National Congress is the most disciplined party of India. It is the only party which fought for India's independence. Congress party members, during the struggle for Indian independence, sacrificed their lives for the nation. BJP government ruled the state for over 4.5 years and gave nothing but poor administration. If BJP continues in power, people of the state will be ruined," he said.

He further added, "Youth Congress has done a good job in mobilizing the youth and making them aware of BJP’s corrupt administration."

He also urged the youth to stand united and uphold the dignity of the party.

Youth Congress president Mithun Rai said, "BJP government has failed the people of the state. In coastal districts the BJP tried to brainwash the youth and encouraged them to take part in communal violence. But this time people will definitely support Congress. This protest rally is a warning to BJP."

Ivan D’ Souza welcomed the gathering.

Hundreds of Congress workers gathered in their vehicles, shouting slogans against the BJP.

Mayor Gulzar Banu and Congress leaders B Ramanath Rai, Vinaya Kumar Sorake, Vijaya Kumar Shetty, Moideen Bhava, P V Mohan, Kalige Tharanath Shetty, Suresh Ballal, Mohammed Masood, Harikrishna Bantwal, Thejaswi Raj, Kripa Alva and other prominent leaders were present.

Protest rally against BJP Govt. o.k.
People want to know what are you protesting ?
General kind of Protest against govt.failure will not make any impact in the minds of people!
Protestors need to be point out specifically about the failures and also assure the public how and when they are going to resolve it!

Why cant they protest against Central govt?
    Why this "Bayalata" now?
They know that, they cannot do Padayatra, so they started vehicle rally. If youth cannot walk then how can we expect Siddu to walk for a long distance? Anyhow, we cannot see any youths here.....80% are old aged people...May be for that reason they might have organized Vehicle Rally...Bunch of stupids....

    This "makkala mela"
In makkala mela yakshagana is enacted by childrens but other things like chende, maddale, shruthi, taala, holding parade etc., done by elders.
So in youth Congress rally same policy is being perceived.

I for one consistently has been a vocal supporter of regional parties going by how all other southern Indian states and UP, Bihar are ruling the roost at the center. On the contrary our bandhavas in this forum are busy with either congress bashing or BJP...in other words black and white. Neither of these parties can do justice to Karnataka's cause (DK included). Janardhan Poojary could not do anything to Mangalore and my gut feeling is he cannot do anything more than he did (hint: nothing at all) in this old age. Wake up guys and see the point rather than take this black and white route of BJP or Congress.

Congress I is different from Indian National Congress Mr.Janardhan Poojary. INC was formed for freedom struggle & not as a political party, but Gandhi(fake) family used it for personal gains.

If these people so deserve, also fight in Centre for
    # Bringing Strict Law for rape cases
    # Against CWG, Adarsh, Coalgate, etc Scams.
    # To bring back Swiss Deposits.
    # Efforts to bring back the Head of Soldiers who died protecting the nation.

Congress sure to win in Karnataka if it chooses to field the right candidate. Congress should pass on leadership to its 2nd generation leaders like Vinay Kumar Sorake Ramanath Rai Prathapchandra Shetty etc, Vinay Kumar Sorake is the most suitable candidate from Mangalore Lok Sabha Constituency they must and should give it to Sorake this time rather than giving it to the old school Poojary.Poojary is no doubt a good politician but he has already lost twice its the clear mandate of the people and they have rejected his candidature without even looking at who is contesting against him . Congress time to change Bring Back VKS.

Thank god.The gathering is totally secular if we ignore saffron color in Congress party flag and Youth Congress flag.Hope Mr.Poojary has no objection for that.Because Congress function of celebration of 150the birth day of Swami Vivekanand otherday at Mangalore was a matter of contrvercy by Poojary for having seen Mr.Vijayanath Vittal Shetty in saffron lungi.Thank god he is not be seen here.Poojary must be happy for that.Saffron has no place in India as per poojary theory.
