Udupi: Tapmi Bags Dewang Mehta Best B-School - Management Award

Udupi, Nov 28: Tapmi, Manipal was honoured with the Best B-School - Management award during the recently concluded 20th Dewang Mehta Business School Awards held in association with Business School Affaire and Hindustan Unilever Lltd.

Tapmi also received five awards under other categories at the same event.

Prof Raghunath Rudran was awarded Best Professor in Operations Management.
 
Tapmi’s Placement Brochure was adjudged the Best Placement Brochure.
 
Esha Gupta emerged as the 2nd Best Student in Management under female category and 4th place overall out of 33 contestants from leading B-schools like IIM-Kozhikode, IIM-Ahmedabad, Jamanlal Bajaj Institute of Management-Mumbai, etc. She underwent group discussion followed by essay writing competition and faced a jury. She was judged by an Independent jury comprising of CEO’s, HR Heads and Professionals from Academia & Industry. Each jury member independently rated the candidates after which collectively decided the winner. She bagged prize money of Rs. 1.50 lakhs sponsored by Onward Technologies.
 
Unnikrishnan Nair shared the Best Student in Management (male)
 
A research paper titled “Bartange: The utility of chocolate as change” written by 3 of our students, Sidharth Panigrahi, Unnikrishnan Nair and Raspal Singh received the Best Paper Presentation (Research Based) Award.
 
Winning of Awards has been a regular phenomenon at Tapmi for its Faculty, Students and Staff Members. In the recent times, Prof Siva Kumar and Prof Ajith Kumar received an international award for Case Writing on Innovation from ISB-Hyderabad at the AIMS Convention. Prof Gururaj H Kidiyoor, was conferred with “Best Professor in Marketing Management” award by World Education Congress 2012 in Mumbai. Dr K Manjunath, Chief Librarian at Tapmi has been chosen for AIMS International Outstanding Librarian Award – 2012. This award will be conferred during the 10th AIMS International Conference on Management to be held in IIM-Bangalore in January, 2013
 
Tapmi was established in 1980 and commenced the 2 year fully residential PGDM Program (equivalent to MBA) in 1984. It is an autonomous Institute known for its Outcome Based Curriculum/ Pedagogy. Tapmi has been consistently ranked among the top 1 % of the B-Schools in India numbering around 4000. Only in April 2012, AACSB- International accredited the program while in October this year, CRISIL has graded Tapmi with A*** at National and State (Karnataka) level.
