Udupi, Nov 27: The 7th anniversary of Nithyananda sports club was celebrated with 'Innadonji dina' recently at Inna zilla panchayat primary school.

As part of the programme, sports events were conducted for the people of Inna area in the morning.

In the evening a beautiful programme was staged, presided over by Rocky D'Silva, the president of Nithyanda sports club Inna.

During the programme a cheque of Rs 50,000 was handed over to Vinod, a TV mediaperson from Udupi towards endosulphan victims' welfare fund. A cheque of Rs 20,000 was also given for the same cause by St Theresa Church, Mukamar. A sum of Rs 60,000 was distributed to 9 financially poor families of Inna village by Nithyanda sports club.

Karkala MLA Gopal Bhandary and Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon were present as chief guests.

Rajendra Bhat compered the entire programme.
