Dubai, Nov 12: Thiya Samaj UAE performed ‘Durga Namaskara Puja’ at Karama Centre, Dubai on Friday November 9. The Puja was held by Samaj members in a pure devotional way and witnessed by a large number of devotees
The Durga Namaskara puja is a very powerful puja to strengthen us on the spiritual path as well as in our daily lives by removing any kind of obstacles and difficulties combating any evil influences, wrong tendencies, wrongs performed by one self or one’s ancestors.
The Goddess is invoked in the diva (lamp) in 3 aspects of Mahakali (Her tamasic aspect – to take care of the bad influences acting on us), Mahalakshmi (Her Rajasic aspect – the bestower of comfortable life and prosperity) and Mahasaraswati (Her Satvic aspect - the Giver of jnana and moksha). Before we invoke Her, the pujari invites her entire retinue (parivar devatas) to take their seat in the rangoli mandala drawn with 5 colours each signify one of the 5 elements. Five lamps are lit to signify the panch maha bhootas. Durga is then invoked in the central lamp and every part of her is worshipped with different (54) alphabets to comprise her roopa from head to feet followed by prana pratishta.
Puja started at 6.00 PM with lighting of lamp from Thiya Samaj ladies followed by Bhajans from Raja Rajeshwari Bajana Mandali. Raghu Batru with his team explained the importance of the puja and very well performed the puja with all the required ‘vidi vidans’.
Manish Karkera and Anupama Karkera represented and performed 108 namaskaras on behalf of Thiya Samaj, UAE. Nrithya aradane “Mahishasura Mardhini ” was performed by 12 kids choreographed by Samaj’s ladies Wings Secretary Jasmitha Vivek Anand. Puja was wonderfully finished by Mahamangala Aarathi and Thirta Mahaprasad.
The participants of “Nrithya Aaradane” were felicitated by the Presidents of Samaj Roshan Bolar (gents wing) and Besajakshi M P (ladies wing). with memento for making this puja more colorful, Rajesh Kuttar was honored for his unselfish contributions and beautiful flower decoration by Samaj’s senior members Nagesh Suvarna (treasurer) and Yogesh Ullal (vice-president).
On behalf of Shree Varamahalakshmi Committee, Suvarana Sathish was honored by Vivek, Secretary of Thiya Samaj, UAE for their guidelines and support for organising puja. Dharmendra Bangera, member of Thiya samaj compered the program systematically.
