Mumbai, Oct 7: Bailoor Raghavendra Shetty (B R Shetty), well-known Mumbai hotelier who was shot on the night of Wednesday October 3 has said that he has no clue about who the assailants were. He was attacked by a gang near Infiniti Mall in Andheri.

Bailoor Raghavendra Shetty, from Olakadu, Udupi is out of danger and is now recovering in the Seven Hills Hospital in Murol, Andheri West.

"I have no rivalry with anyone, hence I cannot say as to who and why they tried to kill me. Some media have levelled false charges against me. I have always engaged in social service. All charges against me are false," he said.

Addressing the mediapersons who went to meet him, he said that on Wednesday at 9.40 pm, he was shot thrice by some miscreants who came in two bikes, when he was nearing the Infinity mall on his way back home from his office in Andheri West, in his car, all alone.

Out of the three bullets fired, one hit the car shield; while another hit his right shoulder and the third hit his ribs. However he drove faster and managed to escape from them, even after being severely hurt. As there was no much traffic he headed to the Oshivara Police Station and then got admitted to Kokhila Ben Dheerubhai Ambani Hospital with the help of the police.

The doctors immediately operated and saved him. He is weak after massive blood loss and is recovering in the Seven hills Hospital. To ensure his safety, cops are deployed both inside and outside the hospital. Dr Bujanga Pai, Tuluva-Kannadiga surgeon is in-charge of my health, B R Shetty said.

As the attack news spread, Udupi Puttige Mutt seer, Shree Sugunendra Teertha Sripada, Maharashtra state ex-home minister, Krishna Shanker Singh, RPI leader, Ramdas Atavale, MP, Sanjay Deena Patil, Eknath Shinde Thane, Arjun Kothar, Shivsena members, Sanjay Rahuth, Ramdas Kadam, leaders of many associations, hundreds of higher police officials and thousand others visited and enquired my health conditions, he added.

The higher officials of Andheri-Oshivara Police Station have registered the case. Investigation is on.
