Somashekara Reddy, Suspended Judges Get Bail in Cash-for-bail Scam

Hyderabad, Sep 25 (IANS): The Andhra Pradesh high court Tuesday granted bail to suspended judges T. Pattibhirama Rao and K. Lakshminarasimha Rao as well as Karnataka legislator G. Somashekhara Reddy in the cash-for-bail bribery case involving former Karnataka minister G. Janardhana Reddy.

The high court granted bail to the main accused and suspended CBI court special judge Pattabhirama Rao and two others on a day when Janardhana Reddy was produced before the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court here.

Justice Samudrala Govindarajulu, who had reserved orders last week, pronounced the same Tuesday.

The judge did not agree with the ACB's contention that Pattabhirama Rao may tamper with the evidence if released on bail.

The court granted bail to another suspended judge, Lakshminarasimha Rao, and Janardhana Reddy's brother Somashekhara Reddy, a member of the Karnataka assembly from Bellary Urban.

The court also dismissed ACB's petition challenging bail granted by the ACB court to Pattabhirama Rao's son Ravichandra and a junior lawyer Aditya.

The ACB had arrested Pattabhirama Rao on June 19 for allegedly taking a bribe for granting bail to Janardhana Reddy in the Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) scam case.

City small causes court judge K. Lakshminarasimha Rao, district and sessions judge D. Prabhakar Rao and a realtor were also arrested by the ACB for trying to bribe Pattabhirama Rao on behalf of Janardhana Reddy's family.

The CBI court special judge, who rejected the offer which came through the two judges, later allegedly received Rs.10 crore from Somashekhara Reddy and other relatives of Janardhana Reddy for granting bail in May this year.

Retired judge T.V. Chalapathi Rao and a rowdy sheeter Yadgiri Rao were also arrested for allegedly receiving the bribe money on behalf of Pattabhirama Rao.

Janardhana Reddy, who was lodged in a Bangalore jail in another illegal mining case, was brought to Hyderabad Monday night on a prisoner transit warrant. The ACB produced him in the trial court Tuesday.

Those arrested in the case include another Karnataka legislator T.H. Suresh Babu, a follower of Janardhana Reddy.

    Nothing surprising to get bail by Karnataka Scamster since Major players like Raja, Kalmadi, etc got bail long ago and they are enjoying their life. And people like Shiela Diksit, Ashok Chavan, Sharad Pawar, Coal & Telecommunication Ministers, etc never even got arrested for their loot of the nation till date. Best way to come to power that all party should befriend with these Reddy Brothers and with their money they can change the scenario of forthcoming elections

    we common peoples are far better than these type of ministers who robbed public money & building banglow, saving a/c, industries in mauritious etc, they shou.d be kept in jail till they able to get stik to walk. These type of ministers blames the karnataka govt.

    All of you here,
    if some of you were the judges in Andhra and Karnataka, what all of you would have done, if you were presented with 10, 20, 50 100 crores to give bail to yeddy, reddy or cheddies.
    Even if one Judge is caught, no one knows how much he really received. Like this T. P. Rao - they say he received 100 crores from JReddy. But in other court news it is 10 crores. He has stashed away 90 crores.
    From that he can use for himself at least 50 crores. He does not mind a few days in jail or here and there.
    Because all Judges are under the influence of firstly - BJP and then the congress and etc.
    BJP has never taken any action against any BJP minister doing wrong and has always helped them to get out of Jail or other legal muddle.
    So it is not at all surprising to read this news of Bail to these so called LAW MAKERS OF INDIA
    One Judge is better than the other and the number of crores is increasing day by day
    wonder how much Yeddy has paid to be out there in the open.
    Wish Sudhindra Rao takes up their cases always.

    Our Justice system should be thoroughly looked into.If these crooks are given bail so easily, what is the use of our Judiciary.

    I pity the Indian legal system.This would not have happened in the US / UK or Europe.Its a big joke.

    The entire episode of Janardhana Reddy is about scams,they looted huge money of this nation!. Now they are using this money to thier survival,so it is not a surprise to anybody of this case, it is Cash for Bail or it is Deal on Bail!. It is Money my friend, it talks all over in this episode?.
