Panaji, May 8:
BJP’s Goa observer Aarati Mehra said that the new president for Goa unit would be elected only after the party selects the national president.

BJP Goa unit chief Laxmikant Parsekar, after being elected from Mandrem constituency, has been inducted in Manohar Parrikar-led cabinet holding health portfolio.

Mehra said that Goa unit will be headed by the leader who has the ability to take everybody together. She said that the unit chief should be able to maintain balance between Goa government and the party organization.

Mehra said that the person with the vision will be given chance to lead the party for the next five years. She stated that they have not yet shortlisted anyone.

BJP from its days of opposition benches has become largest party in the Goa legislative assembly during the March 3 polls. The party has managed to win 21 seats in 40 seat legislative assembly.
