Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (RD)

Mangalore, Mar 18: Under the aegis of city-based Talent Research Foundation, Udupi, Qazi Ibrahim Musliar Bekal paid a visit to a few families stricken by physical disabilities, on Saturday March 17 to listen to their grievances and offer assistance.

Among the families that Qazi Ibrahim Musliar Bekal visited were those of mentally challenged 20-year-old Mohammed Harris, son of Adam, a resident of Kuppepadav, in the outskirts of the city. He has been confined at home ever since his SSLC. 14-year-old Nizamuddin is Mohammed Harris’s neighbour who is a victim of epilepsy. He has suffered several wounds on his body after collapsing due to epilepsy attacks.

Moideen, a scrap dealer, resident of Kukkatte in the limits of Ganjimutt gram panchayat explained the tragic situation of his family, wherein his 17-year-old son Abdul Jabbar was born mentally challenged, and his daughter has appendicitis that needs surgery. 19-year-old Irshad, son of Mohammed, resident of Badriya Nagar, Mallur in Bantwal is bedridden due to polio. 22-year-old Halima Sharif, daughter of Rafiq, resident at K C Road has two physically challenged children - 14-year-old Salahuddin and 13-year-old Shaima. 26-year-old Ibrahim and 12-year-old Fatima Zohra, children of Abdul Khader P S, residing at Talapady are polio victims who are languishing at home. Abdul Khader who was the sole breadwinner and running a eatery had lost his leg in a recently gruesome accident. Qazi Ibrahim Musliar Bekal was moved by the miseries of all these families.

Speaking to the media, the Qazi said, “There are several such suffering people amidst us, who deserve our generosity which in turn will fetch us eternal reward. The wealthy and religious leaders should help them to lighten their burden”.

Qazi Ibrahim Musliar Bekal was accompanied by entrepreneur Suleiman Belvai, Saif Sultan Dubai, Talent Research Foundation advisors Yahya Mubarak, Mohammed Bellacchar, Akram Hassan, Rafiq Master, president Riyaz Kannur, vice president Saiduddin Bajpe, chief secretary Abdul Hameed Kannur, joint secretary Mustafa Bambila, local social activists Basheer Talapady and Yasir Uddabettu.

Talent Research Foundation distributed financial assistance to the distressed families. The foundation has already identified 140 physically challenged persons in the community and is extending financial support to them.

Talent Research Foundation president Riyaz Kannur urged the community to extend their support for the distressed families, however small it may be.
