Mangalore: Air India Express Reschedules Flights to Muscat, Abu Dhabi

Mangalore, Dec 16: Certain changes have been made in the time schedules of the Mangalore-Muscat-Abu Dhabi and Mangalore-Abu Dhabi flights. These changes will come into force with effect from December 19.

Air India, which has also suspended certain flights, said in a release that these changes, which have been made for operational convenience, will be effective till January 31, 2012.

The Mangalore-Muscat-Abu Dhabi flight No. IX 817, which leaves from the airport here on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, will leave at 9.25 pm and reach Muscat at 11.45 pm. This flight will depart from Muscat at 12.30 pm and reach Abu Dhabi at 1.50 am. The return flights, which leave on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays (IX 818), will leave Muscat at 12.30 am and reach Abu Dhabi at 1.50 am. The flight will take off from there at 2.40 am and reach the city at 7.20 am.

The flight IX 815 which operates between the city and Abu Dhabi on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, which undertakes its return journeys (Abu Dhabi-Muscat-Mangalore) on Wednesdays and Thursdays, will remain suspended.

Likewise, the Mangalore-Abu Dhabi flight (IX 817) which operates between the city and Abu Dhabi on Sundays, and its return flight (IX 818) on Mondays from Abu Dhabi will not be operational for the present, the release added.

    Dear readers
    Emirates and Etihad cannot operate to Mangalore because they don't have smaller aircraft.Only Fly dubai ,air arabia.RAK air,Oman air and gulf air can operate.Today the rate in airindia to mangalore is 2300/emirates will give 3 return tickets to any indian sector,Mangaloreans stop flying airindia . Ji ho mangalore

    Dear all, AIE is playing with mangaloreans (God only knows why?). Now they have completely stopped online booking system for those travelling from Abu Dhabi to Mlore. (Note you can book to any destiny in Kerala. Also see the price difference from Dubai to Mlore when compared to Dubai to Calicut or Kochi. latter is much cheap. Morover Mloreans have no other options. What is the use of having Mangalorean business Tycoons here? I am seriously thinking of going via Calicut by some other flight.

    Dear Pretesh, IXE/Dxb, How can we expect International airlines like Oman air, Emirate Air of Etihad to be landed at Bajpe airport ? Recently our Union Minister of Corporate Affairs M Veerappa Moily said as the Mangalore Airport as it is a ‘DGCA Licensed’ airport, the runway has been constructed with the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation) norms inclusive of RESA (Runway End Safety Area) and it is eligible to be d as an 'International Airport' – ‘soon’. So we need to tolarate our national carrier 'Air India Express' untill it become an International Airport !!!

    Worst service from Air india.In Oct-Dec month they cancelled daily flights Manglore-Abudhabi even without information.I request to private sector start flights from Abudhabi to Mangalore.We are upset from Air India express.Even some of my frnds booked 3 months back but sudenly they canceled flight without information and resheduled from Dubai without transportation i have proof also worst worst service pl stop Air India express and give to private sector at least we should reach our destination on time.

    Dev, Mangalore, it was true, on the 2nd of November me too flew through Jet Airways,the experience was same,not only me there were three other passengers who were made to pay extra luggage for the hand baggage they were carrying while another one had more but he just paid 300 rupees to the helper at the counter & they allowed him to go without paying the extra money,this way it was proved that they harass the people for the money, those who gives them underhand are allowed & others they make them pay for the hand baggage.Do not trust Jet Airways too, not at all better than AI Express, both are looters!!!!

    Not only Air India Express, Jet is even worst in harassing the passengers!! In November I flew through Jet via Mumbai to Mangalore, in the night the 12.30am flight was postponed to 3.30am,because of which I missed my connecting first flight of 9am,missed the function I had to attend, which I planned during the three days holidays,on top of that,when I was in for security check ,I was asked to check in my hand baggage ,which is again just looting the passenger,30kg plus 7.5kg of hand baggage is allowed per passenger,but when I was told to check in the hand bag,i was asked to pay for the 8kg, when asked why they were saying it was because check in was dome at abudhabi & to do the check in of hand baggage extra money has to be paid, when asked its not me who wished to check in they argued its the instruction to them!! Its a pure looting of passenger!! Again while returning back after coming to Mumbai the flight was announced 4hours late & was rescheduled to 4.30am instead of 12pm, again I had to loose one day of my duty due to delay in reaching Abudhabi. This was Jet airways is no exception to Air India express in harassing the passengers!!!! So please those who think Jet Air is better please be carefull while buying Jet Air ticket. GUlf route is the only one which fetches maximum benifit for the airlines, despite which it has the poorest service by any airlines in the whole world, passengers of domestic airways are treated 100 times better compare to the gulf route passengers.

    Oh! what a bad experienc I never had in my life in any other Air-lines! Only b'coz its direct we have to prefer this AI Express Otherwise Jet airways is much better airlines to travel in all the ways. Lugguage in AI allowed 27 kgs. On the tkt 20kgs they mention but we know 7kgs hand luggage is allowed as we travel often! In the counter those who employed they are not aware of it & suppose the passenger is flying for the first time he/she has pay that amt or leave that 7kgs lugguge there! for the AI staff's ignorance! Who is the Victim? Poor passenger! Humble request with the AI Express Management kindly train your staff in a proper way, not to harress passengers, & to be kind & respect as a human beings too.     I had a fantastic experience some time back. The captain announces MID AIR that he got a call from company and therefore, he is taking the aircraft to Abu Dhabi (and then to Muscat) instead of Muscat against the previous schedule, unmindful of the inconvenience the passengers have to undergo.

    No airline in the world have this kind of service! Air India Express Zindabad!!

    I don’t like to choose AI flight to Mangalore any more because u never know what will happen, it may cancel or reschedule. I feel better fly through via Mumbai. This only because my own experience which I had last month. Even our international airport condition is very bad.
    I feel our Bajpe airport in much better than current one.

    Why these airlines authorities dont understand the problem of the passengers .Actually I had to reach mangalore on 22nd dec to attend some programmes ,no one from airlines yet informed me about their cancellation of flight .Iam a victim of that.India airlines is the worst airlines in the world

    The same flights cancelled from Abudhabi Also. It is simple to say or send message that flights have been cancelled. But, the tension of the passenger, who will understand ? Being a victim I am feeling that. But all this problems were solved within few minutes, when i reach Air India Express HQ in Abudhabi, yesterday. Thanks for the Staff for their quick & effective service.
